Oxygen sensor wire harness extension question...

Oxygen sensor wire harness extension question...
Do they exist for our cars? I have the OBX V2 headers installed, and I have to replace my Bank 1 Sensor 1. I have to extend the wires about 6 inches or so, but I would like to avoid having to splice and solder if possible. So are there any harness extensions on the market?

I haven't heard of any for the 5.5 gen, I know there are for the 6th gen, but thy have different sensors.
Splicing/soldering, etc. seems to be the only way at the moment. Since the sensor sire is fairly delicate and sensitive, you might want to try extending the actual harness wires and not the sensor wires. Those are a little easier to work with since they're essentially conventional wires vs signal wire from the O2 sensors themselves.

i dont know of any either.. Just splice and solder - takes maybe 10 minutes or so. I recommend doing one wire at a time so you don't get confused as to where each wire goes (obviously) .. I just did this 3 days ago.

Mine is the cheapo one from o2 sim.com. Was like 25$ or so back in the day. Never used it. I don't think I'll need it once I extend my primaries back in.
You must be familiar with my set-up and theory?
1.) I have my secondaries plugged into my primary port on my headers, primaries are in my garage.
2.) I only have primary SES codes
3.) Another member has his secondaries plugged into the stream with no any SES light, and no sim
4.) Another member has his dangling in his engine bay, same, no sim and headers just like point #3.
Points 1 & 2 confirm my theory that I don;t need a sim, and points 3 & 4 confirm it, until I try it.
Point: Secondaries do not need to "see" catalytic converter (pre cat) type of "activity" in order to be satisfied and not emit an SES light/ cat code. Secondaries take care of closed loop AFR IF and only IF secondaries are not seen/connected. Open loop/closed loop is affected in that below 1300 RPM and x amount of load, I get a slight blip in RPM and a rich burst into the AFR. That's why my city MPG's blow asz and my highway MPG's are on par with everyone else (4AT). (28+ @ 77 mph average speed), which highway speeds are also accommodated by normal (14.7) AFR's.

It looks brown, light brown if I recall. Sure I can get rid of it.

I actually solved the problem. I pulled the engine cover to have a look at the wiring to the connectors. I was able to snip a zip tie and move part of the harness (for the sensor I was replacing) down towards the front a few inches. This ended up moving the plug down, and I was able to replace the sensor and plug it in without any extending of the wires. Now I have just the right amount of slack.

^Can you take pictures to show what you mean? Ive never done anything like this and plan to try and install my own headers when I get my hands on some and this is one of the things that bothered me.
If your way is easier and safe then I'd like to try that way.

Depends on the headers too. Some headers have the ports in easy to reach locations, others not so much.

primaries..i would think it would matter. you cant sim the primaries..

Since o2sims.com isnt taking any orders at the moment... Has anyone tried the ones from symtechlabs.com and do they wire up the same as those from 02sims.com????? I have cattman headers and ypipe, inspection coming up soon so i really need to get rid of the CEL...Any feedback would b greatly appreciated....
