P0135, P0!41, P0155 - Codes Not Going Away ... Any Input?
Hey everybody,
I've got a 2000 Maxima SE Auto with 242K km on it. About 5 months ago, codes P0135, P0141, and P0155 came up on the max.
P0135 - Front O2 Sensor Heater (Bank 1)
P0141 - Rear O2 Sensor Heater (Bank 1)
P0151 - Front O2 Sensor (Lean) (Bank 2)
I had all 3 of these sensors changed with aftermarket ones. After driving about 5 min from the mechanic, the SES light came back on and the 3 codes came up again. I took it back to the mechanic and he had no idea what to do and suggested that I take it to Nissan to get it re-flashed.
Over the past 4 months I've been away for school and my parents have been driving the max on and off. Since being back, I've noticed the fuel economy to be poor and the fumes from the exhaust don't smell right. The car also feels a little sluggish sometimes, but otherwise it runs fine.
After looking at previous posts, people have suggested that I check the grounds for the O2 sensors and the connection between the harness and the ECU. Any suggestions to what else I can look for? I'm heading back to school in a few weeks and want to get this problem sorted out so it can pass emissions and that my parents can drive it in peace.
Do you think it might be worth to pay the $100 to the dealership and get it checked out?
I'm also running a Cattman Y-pipe which has been installed for about 5 months now (the codes did come on a little while after the install; but the sensors are before pre-cats which have been eliminated, so I don't think that should be the problem, I could be wrong too). Original cat and Megan Racing Catback with OEM muffler.

i have the same problem but mine is a 4th gen. i keep pulling up p0141 even after i changed the sensor. i fixed a large exhaust leak it had and didnt go away. then yesterday i had some free time so i reset the ecu and it still hasnt came back on but i just took it to nj inspection this morning and they pulled the code up again so i failed. im taking it to a mechanic tomorrow so they can figure it out.

i had the same problem with my car, replaced the sensor and nothing!same code.. 1st thing to do it to check the o2 sensor signal wires and all the other wires. one wire should have source voltage, another should have no voltage and another should have fluctuating voltage when the car is idling. that voltage should never exceed 1 volt. if the voltage exceeds 1 volt then u have a short to power and u need to check the wire going to the ecu to verify if it has the same.. i traced the wire on my car back to the ecu and the wire wasnt shorting anywhere in the harness but was shorting to power in the ecu. replaced the ecu and now im happy lol... it was the last code on my maxx that i had to get rid of..any questions pm me
