NEW TIRE QUESTION!

I blew my two right side tires out on the expressway yesterday. All 4 were extremely low on tread but that is not why they blew, I ran over something when I was changing lanes and didn't even see what it was because it happened so fast.
(see pic below)

Have you all ever heard of ironman imax 94V BSW 215/55/17's? They are on sale at a local tire shop brand new for only $424 w/tax. That includes all 4 tires, mount and balance, and free tire rotation for the life of the tires. Are these a good buy? I've never had to get new tires for my Maxima because I've only had it for a few years now. The Turanzas are out of my price range...

THANKS FOR ALL FEEDBACK!

I never skimp on tires, they are your only contact with the ground.

Continental Extreme Contact DWS.

I love my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires. I've got about almost 40k on them at this point and they are only about halfway worn. I should easily far exceed the Discount Tire warranty of 50k. I run them year-round in Northern Colorado.

I just bought 4 Michelins - Primacy MXV4 (16" for GLE) for 131.00 each - plus 45 shipping - less 70 rebate.

So far the noise and ride is what I call 'hushed" - very very quiet, good handling, supple ride. They have great ratings, and are all season

Suspension and tires are not something I would "skimp" on I mean they could only save your life right?

Love my Bridgestone RE-760 sports, amazing grip wet and dry and they seem to be wearing really good. Nice and quiet too. Wouldn't recommend them for year 'round if you live in the snow belt though, the tread isn't meant for snow or ice at all.

My maxima came with goodyear eagle authority's (walmart exclusive) that are essentially eagle GT's with a slightly different thread pattern. I've been pretty happy with them. They offer good performance when driving in the rain and they are quiet. I'm a michelin guy and this is the 1st goodyear tire set that I like. They are about $125 each.

BTW ... if you go with the Conti's, you should check Sears Tire Center. They are always running specials and they price match. When I was buying two of my authority's, they had the DWS for $121 each. That was a while ago though ...

ironman imax 94V

For the price they sound like Chinese made tires. You get what you pay for.

Just got some Goodyear Eagle GT's. 235/45/17. Grip is great is dry and wet so far. Only 500 miles on them so far at most. NTB will price match very well. Shop around and don't be afraid to see if each one of the shops will price match, most will.
