hidextra review

Well I had an hid bulb go bad recently and since I didn't want to pay 180 per a bulb at nissan I decided to give some of the online guys a try. I ordered two D2R bulbs 5000k from hidextra, took a week to arrive which wasn't bad since it was free shipping. Bulbs cost me about 35 bucks, not a bad price at all. Unfortunately both bulbs were bad, I called them up and they instructed me to destroy both bulbs and send them proof before they would send me replacements. I'm not even sure I want to use the replacements if TWO bulbs were bad right out of the box.

I did confirm that it wasn't the ballast, as I swapped my only good bulb between headlights and it worked fine in each one. Any suggestions on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the offer but I'll wait for now, gonna see if these replacement bulbs hidextra is sending are any good. Also, I'm trying to avoid replacing just one as I don't want to risk mismatched colors.

That's good to know, so you had no issues with these at all?

Nope. Still rocking them after a year. They were identical to the ones I pulled out of the car.

Just an update on this review... I received my replacement bulbs on monday and they both worked for about half a mile then they died. I emailed their support and they wanted to send me more replacements. I opted for a refund which requires me to ship back the bulbs and take a 25% hit for restocking/processing fee. Makes no sense to me why they should charge this fee since the bulbs are defective and should not be restocked.

Anyway, the only good thing I have to say about this company is that they have decent support when it comes to responding to phone calls and email, but that doesn't really matter if their products are crap. Waste of time and money, I'm simply trying to recoop whatever money I can at this point. Basically after shipping them back the defective bulbs and taking the 25% hit I am getting back about 20 dollars. So they've cost me 2 weeks of my time and 15 bucks. Guess I'll be looking on ebay for a set of phillips OEM replacements next.
