Went to Technosquare for F-spec tune

I went to Technosquare to inquire about getting a f-spec tune because I had obx headers installed on my 04 I35 and they said they don't do autos anymore. Are my only options exploring piggybacks?

some people have said keep trying with them, tell them you know that you'll have to shift manually for the extended rev

or someone said to tell them you swapped a 6 speed in your auto..

Thanks for the quick replies! I thought about mailing it in telling them it was for a 6 speed. I'll search for information about UTECs. Any idea on the cost?

you can get em off the Z's and G forums for probebly $400-500... the 6spd thing sounds good but make sure there is no difference because as far as i know the the reflash isnt only software but that was just something i heard

I'll search around for one. Thanks for everyone's help. I just don't want these headers to go to waste.

It wouldnt do you any good to get the ECU on that auto flashed anyway. The TCM would reset the ECU. Thats why they wont do it. I finally talked them into doing the flash, but 350.00 to just remove the speed limiter wasnt good enough for me.Plus no warranty either.

thats what they said.. one said to keep calling and asking to speak to the tech and let the tech know that you have to shift manually.. and another member said to say you did a 6 speed swap.. nmexmax has this done, but another member suggested doing the things mentioned above.. i think its C-Max or something? i'm bad with usernames but he has a 5.5 gen and a 3rd or 2nd gen

The TCM should only affect shift points, right? It shouldn't mess with any timing, air/fuel ratio or other such changes the reflash gives.

Just tell them you did a 6 spd swap or go the Cobb route, it doesn't really matter about that TCM if you shift it manually you override the TCM....we had ppl get this mod awhile back like Nmex and I guess we've had folks get it(recently) not understanding that the TCM isn't gonna allow you to reach you 7100 rpm redline and they started whining like a b!tch! I believe with all the remapped fuel and spark, it should be pretty nice even in the auto....I'll call TS today and see why they are saying this to the Maxima a/t guys there's got to be some reason why.....

Just because it does not require splicing into the harness. Plug and plug is always a good thing

I was going with TS for the simplicity of taking my car there since it was so close. I wasnt too thrilled about having to cut into my ecu harness to install a piggyback. Initially when I got there I spoke with the secretary, then she got a tech, who told me the ecu's from a 02-03 Maxima and I35 could be different internally and that they dont do autos. If a vafc will benefit me as much as a TS tune I will explore that option.

you're still gonna need a afc of some sort... do you know why you would be getting a TS ECU??? just getting a TS ECU doesnt tune your car, your air fuel ratio will still be jacked up and unless you get
Emanage Blue
Emanage Ultimate
V-manage Ultimate (no need for this really)
Utec
VAFC, AFC, SAFC, SAFC II
Apexi Neo
Technosquare (not offered for auto anymore)
and whichever tuning device im forgetting about then you will still need tuning

Cool. Did a lot of research and decided on the Apexi Neo and a wideband. Now finding where to get them for the best price is my next challenge.
