Weird sound after reving

hey guys I've been having an issue mainly with accelerating. Today I turned on my car (it's been sitting since I upgraded vehicles.) I turned it on and reved it up a bit and I noticed there was this rattle everytime I rev it up. Any ideas?
I got the 2k2 maxima gxe model. heres what it sounds like.

perhaps check the front heat shield on the exhaust, they do have a habit of becoming loose and creating a slight rattle noise.

I was doing some research I know about the famous rattle lots of people get when their engine is stressed roughly 2k rpm perhaps it's the same thing thats making the sound?
From what I hear it could be either the heat shield or the precats more than likely the precats.

One detail, on my car, it only does that sound when the engine is warmed up. If it is cold, no noise for some reason...

Well, I finally decided to get under the car while my friend was reving it up, and it's definately coming from inside the rear pre-cat. Nissan quoted me $785 just for parts...

I can get one on eBay for just over $200. Anyone has experience with ebay precat for their max?

Since the inside of my precat is all blown up, I figured it probably partially threw all kind of **** up the third catalytic converter located downstream of the Y-pipe and most likely partially clogged it up so I will probably go ahead and replace this one too. Since I'm cheap, I was thinking of pulling it off, and removing the honeycomb thing inside the cat with a hammer and screwdriver, and put it back on the exhaust as is... Is it a good/bad idea?

It will probably throw me some codes but I don't care, but my question is: will it decrease the performance of the car since it will fool the 02 sensors?

Alright, I had the exact same problem with my Max coming from the rear precat. I bought a precat on eBay for about $280 and paid a local exhaust shop $75. 2 hours later, the noise is gone

So now you know what to do!
