These arent really new. They've been around for a while, just not on ebay. A friend of mine has them on his s14 drift car. The car handles like its on rails with them. As far as comfort goes, he said that it's pretty streetable when set to a soft setting. But he has his currently set to max stiff. He's been running them for over 2 years now as far as I know.

Lmao that "get what u paid for" line is so over used... u do get what u paid for... coilovers, were u expecting anything else??? I do hope you guys know that damn near all coilovers are made the same... unless it just breaks in two (which ain't gonna happen) then its the same as K-sport, D2's, Megans, blackworks ect ect ect... everybody always want a guinea pig, didn't datdude already guinea pigged OBX headers for this forum??? There was that same "you get what you paid for" line used then.... sad community

I have ridden on D2 RS and now running a NEX GT rear/D2 RS front and the ride is smooth, handling is good, and I liked the comfort better than OEM. The D2s have a lot of miles on them too and have held up well.
Except for Tein SS and JIC FLTs which supposedly are amazing.

One thing I noticed: They have a no-reserve starting bid of $399.
What's to say you snipe them at the last second and get them for $425? I wonder if they'd actually consent to it. I've heard of these drop-shippers telling customers they won't honor the auction because they "didn't get the price they were looking for," in the past.

Any coilover setup is a better option than running GR2s + any aftermarket spring. GR2s are just a stock replacement strut. There is no reason to buy them with the intention of "upgrading" your factory struts. For the 5th gen, get tociko illumias if you want a spring and shock setup.

GR2's are tuned better than any stock strut I've ever road on including Max SE stockers. They definitely ride better than Tokico blues and withstand mild spring drops without any issues.
I consider them a "better-than-OEM" replacement.
But I understand your position with the Illumina's. Adjustability would be nice.

My car came with gr2's on the front end so I was gonna just get springs and run it till it dies even if it would ride rough. Either that or save up for coilovers next year.

Like essential said any coilovers is better than spring + GR2 setup, no matter how cheap... now what each person is looking for is different but I will stress how I will never mod a suspension without going coilovers... pointless

I'd love to see the front strut mounts since they must turn, and the pictured non-strut application upper mounts won't work with front struts. Although, the pictures have some sort of Asian characters, use metric spring rates and have tons o'clicks so they must be mad tyte.
Just because the lower spring perches move up and down doesn't mean the damper is worth a ****. BTW, most "JDM" style dampers have horrible damping qualities with meaningless adjustments; for example:
BTW, this is a counterpoint, and shouldn't be taken as an aggressive dismissal.

And I agree on the damper statement. But talking apples to apples, given the same qualitly damper, a fully adjustably coilover setup is superior to a standard spring and shock setup. Even with the meaningless adjustments.
And on that note, ever since going with coilovers I will never do a spring/shock setup again on a maxima. Even with a mild drop. I have 1st hand experience, long term at that with whats considered one of the worst suspension setups offered for the maxima. (ksports) And I can say that I will choose these over my previous stech/illumina setup.
My other experiences include
progress/Illumina
stech/kyb agx
stech/gr2
eibach/illumina
D2 coilovers
JIC coilovers
BC racing coilovers
Tein basic
I've driven/installed these on other maximas and I will always choose any of the above coilover setups over any standard spring and shock setup. But please take note that this is just for a daily driver application though. Performance driving is a whole different topic.

The "super JDM mad tyte" Coilovers > loss of any and all suspension travel in a spring/strut setup. Plus
You're not really supposed to adjust the lower perches unless you really do grenade your ride quality.

well you can make a case for whatever.... as i can say its pointless to buy D2's as they are just purple K-sport coilovers and you could just buy the K-sports for less.... coilovers are always gonna start around those prices
