Search, there are a few threads lingering around about them, most people retrofit them.

Seeing how you have a 5.5 gen you shouldn't go to ebay halos (especially if you need to only replace one broken headlight)

But...if you must. There are two types one can think of: the projector style and the non-projector style. I wouldn't recommend either for a 5.5gener. The light quality isn't nearly as good (unless of course, you retrofit them as mentioned above)

I've seen those ebay projectors in person and they definitely do not project like they are supposed to and the halos are not that bright, a waste of money that could have went to a performance mod IMO.

ebay halos are junk-crappy led's in the rings (like 2 i think) and the output is absolutely horrible.

find someone parting out...then get yourself some V2's

I've seen 2 cars here in new england that have the aftermarket headlights. IDK if they were from ebay but both cars had 1 cracked headlight and they looked brandy new.

One of my buddies here in MI bought the ebay projector head lights and his bulbs weren't seating properly. The right bulb was bouncing in the housing. They didn't fit properly and just were cheap quality. So I personally wouldn't recommend them. If you're looking to replace your headlights, I'd probably check out www.rockauto.com . They have good parts. Also www.autoanything.com

I personally didnt think the ones with the projectors would have done enough for me. ive seen a lot of maxes with em but i also know alot of people take those projectors out and replace them with say...fx50 projectors

with the 6000k HIDs you wont really be able to see the halo rings. the lenses that they use give off a slight glare which actually make the HIDs look a little brighter than they are, which to me isnt a bad thing at all. i would post a pic of them lit on my car but its in the shop.

i'd say easiest to do is get 2k2 2k3 headlights open them up black out the housing & add the halo rings. thats the best imo

I would be great if you could post a pic of the light on the road from the halos with the HIDs.. the reason im asking is bc one of my stock headlights is cracked on the back of the housing and i cannot seal it to save my life.. so im thinking of getting the ebay halos and upgrading it with HIDs.

Also, I heard that the Ebay halos have a better light pattern than the stock 00-01 headlights.. so i wanted to check it with someone that has them installed..

Ebay non projector with led corners, and 10k hids..i must say they are bright but they have nothing on the 2k2's and the 2k3's.. they definatly look good, and give off just enough light with the right hid bulb temp in them..
like BIGC said they give off a glare, which actually is a good thing.. i will try to get a pic of the light output soon cause im out of town right now.

This has got to be the first thread where I've seen someone say glare is 'good'

you can get D2R connectors from an hid dealer, or from someone that sells hids... i myself sell them locally, but i am not sure how far yu are, and not sure of shipping cost.

I had my stock headlight cracked by a rock, didnt have the money to replace with the 2k2-2k3 OEM housings, so I figured I'd give the infamous ebay's a shot.

Light output is not great, but with a 6000k kit it lights up the road better than the stock halogen. I won't get into the discussion of useable light vs. non-useable light and glare, all I'm gonna say is that it lights up the road better than halogen.

I have occasional fogging in one of the lights. Fitment was terrible, as I could not manage to get the stock headlight clips to snap into the ebay housings. I did eventually secure them with less orthodox methods.

Overall, for the low cost, I am pleased with the lights...after installing HID kits. I personally don't like the look of the projector halos because the smaller outside circle makes the car look goofy to me.

My sig shows the 6000k lights with LED's in the parking lights. They appear slightly more blue in the pic compared to in-person.

I'm sure they do (I had a set before my current one), but glare is something folks thrive to minimize...not accentuate.

My light setup just before my retro projectors were the non-projector ebay halos w/ an ebay 6000k kit. Sure, I've seen hid setups that give off worse glare than this setup, but glare is not a good thing.

You want a light setup w/ minimal glare, and controlled (mostly) light patterns.

Healthy bright light is one thing...glare = bad

Agreed. These lights do a much better job than the stockies, and for the price it's not a bad upgrade as well. The modeled design after the 5.5 lights mean the look better too.

Ok, now what are your thoughts about where is the best place for Audi-like LED strips on Maxima 2000-2001 with 2003 HID lights and Umnitza Angel eyes in it?
