Headlight question
yes its another baking the headlights open question but i didnt see an answer to this one anywhere......i noticed that it looks like the inside of my headlight assemblies are foggy...can i use a restorer on the inside or will it cause a haze in them down the road? i might just leave it just in case...any input is appreciated!

I'll assume you already tried buffing the outside first? Brasso, PlatiX, or wetsanding/polishing will do the trick. The haze is on the outside (usually). Even if it looks like its on the inside, try the outside first. Also, expect to put a little effort on the buffing process. "Lightly" buffing will not do much, so put your hand and arm muscles to work without breaking the lens . Or, use one of those drill buffer ball attachments.
I've done several sets of headlights, and I've even baked open a few sets only to find the inside of the lens perfect when the hazing appeared to be on the inside.

^^Also, from experience, any kind of polishing/sanding of the plastic (inside or outside) will speed up any future hazing if you don't use some sort of wax or UV protectant. I use the Meguiars PlastiX on the ouside of my headlights after each car wash. It takes a total of 2 minutes to do, and keeps my headlights crystal clear. I do this because I am lazy to protect my headlights.

I know exactly what your talking about. Those tiny cracks (the ones you can see when the light hits them just right) drive me nuts! I think they are micro-stress cracks or something, from rocks/debris hitting the lens over the years. I come to this conclusion because after my retrofit, I had a shroud that fit a little too snug against the inside of the lens after I put the headlights together. Well, after forcing the lens on and deciding to re-position the shroud, I had those little "cracks" on the lens where the shroud touched the lens. I couldn't get rid of them no matter how hard I tried.

Ok so im not the only one who has these....lol..they are sooo annoying! but like i said ill just work around them. I already bought some blacked out housings and put them on my car but the person that blacked them out also did the blinker reflector and i dont really like the look. So im gonna take my stockies and do im the way i want..then sell the other ones i got...thanks again!

PlastiX works well. Otherwise, I'd get myself some very fine, high quality polish. I'm not familiar with the brands of polish out there, but I know there are some that work better than others! FYI, the Turtlewax brand polish sux. Haha, you get what you pay for. I think I'm using some fine polish by Meguiars along with the PlastiX.

Oh, I have tried that and it still left my headlight a little cloudy. I have used the polish in CV Chemicals Headlight restoration kit, it worked great! But I don't wanna spend another $20 on another halfway done headlight lol but thanks, I'll give it another try!
