CURSE YOU P0335!!!!
So I'm _still_ fighting my P0335 and related P0725 code after dropping an 08 Quest engine into my 02 Max. The block differences meant that I had to move the "hole" for my CPS to bolt into, which then threw off the distance from my CPS to the signal plate.
I tried a new 08 Quest's CPS (same as one of our cam pos sensors, I forget which, think it's the "front"), and even changed the little sub-harness thinking I had unseen wiring issues with it. I even toyed around with different shims that changed the distance from my CPS to the signal plate, all to no avail.
The car does eventually start, and runs just fine once it's started, but I've got no tach signal and my SES/TCS/SLIP lights are all on.
I think all I really need someone to do is stick a feeler gauge into the distance between their 02-03 CPS and the signal plate and let me know what that distance is. This would require the engine and trans be seperated for whatever reason, mind you, but I think once I know what that distance is supposed to be, I can fix this problem of mine.

Argh, I'm an idiot....
Pretty sure I've figured out why I've got that P0335 and resulting lack of tach and all the fun little lights on:
When I moved my CPS' pickup location due to the new block's design, I basically threw the computer's point of reference out the window. I had to swap my existing flexplate over to the new engine due to the transmission's torque convertor differences. Now, we all know there's only one way for the flexplate to bolt up to the crankshaft, but the signal ring can be "clocked" differently in relation to the flexplate.
If my car's sensor was mounted at call it 3 o'clock, and the corresponding breaks in the signal plate teeth that denote TDC were where the computer was expecting them to be, then the CPS has something to work with. When I moved my CPS, it threw my TDC signal out the window. I'm gonna have to try to move my sensor back to where it was originally, which ought to be interesting, the block is way different at that spot than my old engine's.
