headers are a major PITA to install, why not just get a y pipe. you will lose a few HP, but save a bunch of money and time on the install.

OP, take a step back. It reads like you're getting a high-flow cat as your #1 purchase, and are trying to decide what else to get. Which doesn't make any sense, unless your cat is clogged.

If you're getting headers, you're going to want a better cat-back than OEM anyway. So by that reasoning, you can get your cat-back first, and headers second.

But if you're getting them all eventually, then do it at the same time, save on installation costs and headache.

A mail-order bride for only $400? Maybe if she's from Mississippi, but then you've got all the added dental expenses. Where are you mail-ordering your women from these days?

while on topic i notice someone said unless your cat is clogged a hi flow cat is useless ....2 questions...first is why is it useless? 2nd is how can you tell if youre cat is clogged or not? can precats clog too?

It is not useless, it just isn't worth the money. And if you do plan on getting one, get the one off eBay for $30 shipped. It is resonated also. There are two different models of it, one being 13.xx inches long and the other being 12.xx, you will want to get the 12.xx inch one.


I am assuming you are referring to the 6th gen BBK.

The OP has a 2001, so the 6th gen BBK will NOT clear his wheels.

The 6th gen BBK will only clear the 2002-2003 17" wheels, NOT the 2001 17" wheels.

to me.... the high flow cat the custommaxima sells looks jus like the ebay 1 that u can get for i think 30 shipped.. i have one and it sounds great and i noticed a differences in power

also the exhaust also seems to b the exact same EBAY exhaust that i have... search for the N1 catback

and if u do headers your better off just getting the long tube headers...
