Best way to spend ~$350-400?

I'm getting the high-flow cat
http://www.custommaxima.com/product/...r/Default.aspx

But would it be better to get the cat-back with it
http://www.custommaxima.com/product/...m/Default.aspx

or the headers?
http://www.custommaxima.com/product/...s/Default.aspx

Either way, I'll be getting all 3 within the month. Which would be the better way to start on an 01 Max?

high flow cat = waste of money. unless yours is clogged, save your money for something else

out of those 3 i would have to say headers. you will see the most difference with headers than the catback or CC

What about headers and then cat-back? I'll probably use the stock muffler though

headers are a major PITA to install, why not just get a y pipe. you will lose a few HP, but save a bunch of money and time on the install.

This.

OP, take a step back. It reads like you're getting a high-flow cat as your #1 purchase, and are trying to decide what else to get. Which doesn't make any sense, unless your cat is clogged.

If you're getting headers, you're going to want a better cat-back than OEM anyway. So by that reasoning, you can get your cat-back first, and headers second.

But if you're getting them all eventually, then do it at the same time, save on installation costs and headache.

A mail-order bride for only $400? Maybe if she's from Mississippi, but then you've got all the added dental expenses. Where are you mail-ordering your women from these days?

Good to know, should ever I use up the one I have now. Bookmarked.

why would you ever put your money on a gas card and lock it up. Considering "the direction we seem to be going" you would be much better off keeping it liquid in a savings or checking account

If I had a 01 I would get the cash for the headers and the cat -back exhaust it aint that much cash for both I wish it was a combo like that for 03's but I might be saving for the Cattmans.

It is not useless, it just isn't worth the money. And if you do plan on getting one, get the one off eBay for $30 shipped. It is resonated also. There are two different models of it, one being 13.xx inches long and the other being 12.xx, you will want to get the 12.xx inch one.

I am assuming you are referring to the 6th gen BBK.

The OP has a 2001, so the 6th gen BBK will NOT clear his wheels.

The 6th gen BBK will only clear the 2002-2003 17" wheels, NOT the 2001 17" wheels.

to me.... the high flow cat the custommaxima sells looks jus like the ebay 1 that u can get for i think 30 shipped.. i have one and it sounds great and i noticed a differences in power

also the exhaust also seems to b the exact same EBAY exhaust that i have... search for the N1 catback

and if u do headers your better off just getting the long tube headers...
