to black out or not

ok so i posted a couple days ago that i am gonna be doing the audi led mod in my headlights in the next 2 weeks. now i have another question. Black out the headlights or leave the gray/silver color they came with?

A little info in the lights.
-Cleared the blinker
-install of audi led mod
-put a amber bulb in parking and blinker slots as i feel it makes it more grown up (had the led cool whites but feel the amber gives it back the classy look)
- Car is the sheer sliver

IMO, paint them.

I think the silver headlights on a silver car is a bit too much. But that's just my feeling.

What are you lowered on, btw? The drop looks nice.

Blacking out will match the markers and windows. And if you haven't aready done it, black out the tails too. That'll finish off the look. That's alot of ice on the ground!!!

I'd black em out, and the tails as well, but to make it look really nice then I would also get black wheels iwht a chrome lip, a big lip. But I hate black wheels I actually like how your car looks with the stockers on. do you have summer wheels?

You can do black headlights and tails from 00-01 maxima
or imo i would leave the headlights (still clear them) and tails stock and replace the black corner lights to clear.

RVA, i didn't think of that. i wonder if i left the tails as i have the clear lense with the silver inside the car if it would look unbalanced with black headlights...hmmmm. i honestly thought i would get a" stay with the silver insides". I'm gonna have them apart within 2 weeks but if i do decide to do it i will be as hell to not f it up and get orange peel or drips...has anyone done it and have advice on how to do it correctly so it comes out nice.
Does anyone have pics of the sheer sliver with blacked out Hl's.

BTW, SLC.. I'm on sprint springs and illuminas. love the drop but the ride even with 17s can get nasty.

you read my mind dude. those are the year round rims. havent gotten the cash for rims and would need to convince the wife that " i hit a curb and damaged one so i need a whole new set" haah and always wanted the black rims with a polished lip. That and adding a front lip spoiler would, i think, make the Max look bada$$

Shift, HD's are cleared... this would be my 3rd time opening them up

Same as Shift Max, if you keep your taillight, keep them silver. But i think black all around would look better !

Black them out dude. My 06 MAx is sheer silver and I have the heads and tails blacked out and they look good, makes it look more aggressive.

Black max do you have any bigger pics. although yours is a 6th itll give me a better visual of what mine may look like.
if i do this i think im gonna leave the tails alone. i think it would look better doing them but the more you do the more you can screw up..

Zero, your headlight is like drunkies. i think that would look good on my sheer silver. did you have to sand any of it or did you just clean it and paint?

i say go with jeff's coloring. if you want that color blend. the headlight and high beam are too much (mine are like that) more unified and simple all black on part flash/custom (turn signal on the outside)

Yes, minus the orange. The headlights were sanded and painted at a body shop. Half masked off to preserve the stock silver, half painted gloss black.

Maxima112 do you have any pics of your blackouts. I think im gonna do that half/half black bottom but stock headlight, highbeam and turn signal area. im gonna be performing this at homesince i dont have a garage to go to. What grit sandpaper did you use and in what steps ... Ex 400-600-800. Also was wondering if i just scrotchbright, prime and paint if that will do it.

ok i did it. i blacked out the lights. the only part i left the silver color is the hi and low beam. i also added the superbrightlights led strip snfls right under the blacked out frame. so yuo wont see them when there not on as the will be inside the light hidden under the frame. i tested them with a 3v light i have and it is gonna look nice once done. the 12v will def make it brighter. i gotta say this is gonna give the car a nasty look. i will post pics up soon. gotta work tonight and tomorrow night so it maybe in 2 days or so.

Sooner funny how the top pic shows the rear marker light blacked out then the bottom it shows, flash must go right thru it. i was thinking if i got the tail lights that you have and then black out the trunk lid area that holds the plate and the emblem in semi gloss black. i think that would look real nice. well the weather took a nasty turn for the worse up in the northeast so the weather is -14 windchill. damn cold so i wont be installing today.. don't want to break anything. i will take some pics of the lights later on just to show how they came out then the install in a few days
