I was afraid to ask since I've been through, what, 20+ Chicago winters, but thanks for explaining! I've never seen anyone lift their wipers here...heck, I wouldn't be surprised if the inserts are gone by the time you get to your car.

Are you referring to people stealing them?

Its pretty common practice around here. Before a big storm, I'd say at least half the people in my condo parking lot leave them up.

Yep. But there's the difference, you're in an environment where a lot of people "follow suit" and it might be considered the norm. I park on the street, and to a (malicious) passer-by, wipers in that position kind of seem like an invitation to swipe them, especially if you're the only car on the block with 'em like that.

Just for winter. I took off the Stillen front for other reasons, so the car just looks goofy now. I'll be putting them back on, hopefully as well as some new wheels, in the spring time.

I leave mine down, touching the windshield. I agree with everyone so they don't freeze, but if you have a remote start (yes, I spoiled myself haha) and you set the heat on defrost at 90, it only takes about 10-15 minutes and they work perfectly. Don't know if anyone else has tried it, works great for me though!

Winter pics. The snow has mostly melted, we've been getting freezing rain all day.

Chillin with my old car. Dirty, paint faded, 1988 Honda Accord [<3]

Lol, I'm not waiting that long to start driving (& wasting that much gas!), but no remote start here...guess I'm old-fashioned.

Long after our 5th gens are crushed and forgotten, that old Accord will still be tooling around the streets.

I live in Westfield, MA and all the weatherman were saying we were supposed to get a ton of snow last night and today...Not a flake yet, think were supposed to get it tonight though. Joy, I hate snow, and I also hate not having snow tires.

+1 Here in Boston at school. All kinds of professors cancelled classes, as well as 503 closings/delays around the area as of this morning when i woke up. Not a flake of snow on the ground. Free day off?

No pics, but about 5 inches in East TN since last night. Possibly to get more. I suppose I'm lucky and we get getting hit with only the edge of the storms.

Lol, my old 89 Maxima bad weather car is still running strong. I sold it to a coworker 3 yrs ago and she and her son still roll "chuckie", he has 264,000 miles on the original motor! I took good care of that car!

Ended up being a record 1 day total, something like 10 inches at DFW airport. Some areas got as much as 14 inches yesterday.

This was in the morning when we had about 3" on the ground

This morning, I still had a big snow cap despite driving around a lot yesterday.
