Cost me $120. But things are more expensive in ny apparently. Every price I find on forums I always have to pay more.

Update btw. Still have the AM600 in for a few months. I've got on her hard a few times and its holding up very nicely. I have the early mfd 02 max 6mt for anyone who didn't read earlier. With a berk/apexi intake and I've blown 4 mafs already in 3 months time. The am600 with the dealer reflash is holding up awesomely!

I have 07/01 ( 2002 ) Maxima

I had a bad MAF in June 2012 and then got an Ebay sensor that lasted about 5 months -

Then got another ebay sensor from different vendor that had crossover for 22680-6N200 (06/01-12/01 Maxima). That one was ok until we hit a cold spell and it ran crappy but now at 65 deg its ok again.

I also bought 2 thermistors from Newark electronics and checked on Ohm meter and they are right on (2.02 at 68 deg) and the ones on my MAF is 2.17 close. Maybe I change the thermistor on the 2nd ebay MAf but I think I will get the $85 sensor I am thinking I have the $85 sensor all along and it had a thermistor.

any thoughts?

The am600 MAF I bought from the dealer is still going great, no more problems. My advice: ditch the eBay garbage and get the 22680-am600 maf from a dealer or equivalent site. (NOT aftermarket, only OEM parts). Then get the reflash done

It's a lot of money, I know, but it works. Your alternative is to follow post #1 in this thread and hope that works, it's the only thing I haven't tried. My max was mfd 10/01

Another thing you could try is find out what cars the 22680-am600 maf fits, then buy one from a junkyard. It's worth a shot.

Also I'm noticing an increase of about 2-4 mpg with the am600 which is nice. The CPU says less mpg, but I'm getting about 30-40 miles more per tank so I think it's just being more accurate.

I didn't say I installed a 2Y001. I think that is for 3.5 2002 and up.

Well my MAF (early 2002 style) finally shot craps last Wednesday after all these years. I had an '01 on order last year but cancelled it when I found out what was really causing my problems. So now my '01 MAF is supposed to show up today so I'm going to do the swap this evening. For the guys with the early production 2002's that have not had the ECU update done did you car still drive decent without the update? I made an appointment for Wednesday to get the ECU update put on my car after having to spend 15 minutes trying to explain to the guy what exactly I needed he finally found it ...said update would be $139 which is ridiculous imho. The problem is the dealership I'm taking it to is 50 miles from my house which is the closest one to me, I'm hoping the car will make the trip up there no problems but I have concerns running the newer style MAF with the out of date ECU software.

I'm not sure if my 2002 is an early or late model, but I did drive it with the modified 2001 MAF before getting the update. I was hoping that I wouldn't need it. Turns it, it did need the update, but it was still drivable in the meantime. Actually, according to my records, I drove it 5,000 miles before reprogramming it. I don't remember exactly what it was like, other than some signature MAF hesitation under acceleration.

I agree that it's a bit of a ripoff. They literally just plug in a programming tool, press a couple buttons, and wait for the tool to do its thing. Unfortunately, there's no other way to get the software. But, considering that even if you got the uber-expensive 2002 MAF, you'd still need the update, you're still saving lots of money by getting the 2001 MAF and throwing the thermistor on it. 2 years and 30k miles later, mine is still happy.

Got the new MAF in today and swapped everything over and installed a while ago. As expected, the IAT swap was straightforward and simple especially after reading this thread beforehand. I reset my ecu and fired the car up to a crisp and smooth idle (the reason I replaced was it went completely dead, rough idle, couldn't even take off from stop, etc...). As far as driving impressions, the car runs great and I might even go as far to say that it runs even better than it did with the old MAF before it shot craps. My car is an early production model '02 and had the old style MAF on it and it was the original MAF so I was suprised it lasted as long as it did. To be honest if the car continues driving this well until Wednesday I might just cancel my appointment to get the update performed but I will have to wait and see how the car does.

After reading this thread, and searching Amazon (because I am Amazon Centric), I believe this piece, with thermistor shown, will take care of the 'no power above 3K' 2003 Maxima I am going to go look at tomorrow night.

Amazon.com: Delphi AF10216 Air Flow Sensor: Automotive Amazon.com: Delphi AF10216 Air Flow Sensor: Automotive

I added a 2003 Maxima to my Amazon Garage and it says this part fits.

Fingers crossed that it is the right part, because between the asking price, the replacement part, and a possible ECU reprogramming/reset, I could get this car for about 1/2 of what it's worth.

be sure to report back in a few months and let everyone know how it holds up. i've read lots of complaints on here about non-OEM MAFS

Didn't buy it. There's potentially a lot more wrong with it than a simple MAF sensor. And it could get into monetary territory I do not and will not have wifely approval to enter.

bump

This thread saved my a$$, simple 'fab' job and now the beast is back to life. Spent an hour at the jy only to find that every Nissan/Infiniti maf I could use was already vultured, except a busted bosch out of an 01pathy. So screw it spend the $80 from Nissan (2y001in stock, and the parts guy knew exactly what and y I was doing). But i tell u what I realize why I randomly stalled at lights occasionally and y my idle was a little erratic. Didn't actually know the maf reading where supposed to be higher then 2g/s. Guess it's been trying to die for a bit. The guy I bought it from got a new Nissan one per the tsb, but they didn't install the updated sensor(different part number). But did update the cpu. Anyway, thanks again op!!!
