Rear door (driver side) is locked from inside and outside .. please help

I have Nissan Maxima 2002 SE

My rear driver side door is locked and I can not open the door from inside and outside ... I can not open it from inside because the child lock is on but I do not know why I can not open it from outside ... Maybe the exterior door handle is bad ...

the center lock is working fine..

I do not know how to remove the inside door panel .. because it is locked

Is there a way to remove the exterior door handle without removing the interior door panel?

please help ... anyone has the same problem before ?

I think you are going to have to take the door panel off, i bet you you can get the door panel off with the door closed. You might have to take your lower seat cushion off to make some room though

you definitely need to take the lower seat cushion out. There is a thing that you need to pull on. I had a similar problem and I had to take it my car to the nissan dealer. They said there was a little rust in there. So they sanded it and used some lube. They ended up doing the other door too. It ended costing around $300. Definitly try to fix it your self first.
