Bose to aftermarket swap question

I just purchased a 2002 I35 as a replacement for my 1997 Maxima SE. The I35 is a fine car except for a rather loud wind noise when driving on the highway. The stock Bose stereo on the car is skipping bad and the cassette adapter I use to listen to my mp3 CDs looks rather antiquated. So, I decided to swam my aftermarket Panasonic unit from my Maxima into my new I35. I have a question regarding the sound quality that I would have if I use PAC ROEM-NIS2 adapter with my Panasonic stereo that only has component (front, rear, sub) out and 2.5 volts pre amp out as opposed to 4 volts that factory Bose unit uses. The gain control function that PAC ROEM-NIS2 has should compensate for the lack of voltage, right? Any experiences with this issue?

Thanks
