One of my fans is loose (fan blade wobbly) and making a lot of noise and vibration. I would like to replace or repair.
Looking at the FSM under LC-17, the fan assembly is only held by 2 bolts. So it looks feasible to remove it for trouble shooting without radiator being removed.
My suspicion is that the bolt that holds the fan is loose.
Has somebody removed the fan assembly only and not remove the radiator?
This thread details replacing/removing the radiator and fan as a whole, but you might be able to use it as reference to locate the fan bolts and where it's attached to remove it.
yes, I had one fan go out on me in the past. really easy to remove. no need to remove radiator.
How did you know one of the fans had failed? Was there a CEL?

Removed the radiator fan shroud last night and yes it was easy. But have to remove the air intake and the upper hose (plan on spilling some coolant, stuff it with something, both the radiator and the hose to limit the spill) to ease out the shroud, do not fight it.
There will be a hose in the bottom and top that you need to yank out and 2 motor connectors unplugged.
Tore down the suspect fan, bolt was not loose, it is indeed the motor that went bad.
Have checked around for a replacement motor, cost wise, better to get the whole shroud replaced (cheaper). Fleabay has a few of them. Some folks have purchased them and replacement was a breeze, plug and play. Some have gone to the junkyard and picked up a set, pretty sure it will be cheaper that way, but you time is valuable, too.
When you start hearing a noisy fan and some vibration coming from the front when the fan is on…it is your fan shroud.
The fan assembly from fleabay came in and took me 15 minutes to swap it out, with a little coolant loss. Went well with practice.
Turned on the AC and the fan was running quietly. Noise and vibration solved.
Plug and Play. Was looking at a motor replacement for 1…$160 was the cheapest. Crud! The whole assembly was $87 shipped!
