Fog Light Rocker Switch Suggestions

I'm going to hard-wire my HID foglights and bypass the turnsignal mounted on/off switch.
Why you ask?
I'm tired of the fogs not re-igniting when I flick the brites on and off.
Really, the issue is that I have the fog-light "mod" done, and the power is sapped from the Pass. side Clearance/Market lite -- so, I'm not really getting a clean source for the power to the hid's.
I do believe also, it's spiking my clearance lights, and burning out the pass. side prematurely.

And, albeit technically illegal - I want my fogs to run all the time.
I doubt I'll get a ticket for that, any sooner than i do for my 15% tint.

ANYWAY -
Can anyone point me towards a nice Illuminated Rocker-Switch, that will mount cleanly on the dash just below the tach/speedo, in the space where the Heated Steering wheel switch is supposed to mount?!
The OEM switch is $42 from Nissan, so I'm not going THAT route.

Naturally - I'm looking to not spend a fortune.

if anyone has a good source for switches -- I'd appreciate your suggestions.

thks,
gr

Well, if you're a junkyard scavenger like I am, you should be able to get an OEM rocker style out of an older Pathfinder or HB, I've used these in the past, they replace the "blanks". This worked great in my Altima ('97), I put one where the factory alarm switch was to go if it would've had that option, when I installed factory fogs. But I wired it to the park lights wire under the steering column so they would come on with the park lights, the regular headlights and stay on with the brights, but would shut off when the light switch was off. They are even lighted to indicate "on".

I think they can be bought thru the dealership for about $9.

Yeah my HB has aftermarket foglights and those pop out panels come in very handy for that type of mod! Realistically all Nissans between 88-94 seemed to have those pop out panels or oem filler panels.

I re-read your original posting: I didn't realize the OEM switches were $42.

Since I have a '93 HB 4x4, I'm also a member on 4X4Parts.com. They can get the OEM switches also. Last time I looked they were $9.

Do you know any vendors or actual parts numbers?
This sounds like a good option, especially if it slides into that vacant position
in the dash.
I actually have TWO empty slots that will fit, but I'm using the one next to the dimmer switch on the instument panel....it's in my line of sight, so I'll be able to see if the fogs are on or off with an illuminated rocker.

The switch that was $42 was for a heated-steering wheel assembly, so it's likely a bit more "hearty" than just a 12v rocker switch.

Thanks for the suggestions guys....I suppose I'll need to post-up pics when I'm done?!

So - uh, anyone ELSE?!

Would really like an OEM switch to slot-into one of the open areas near the instrument cluster.

Anyone?!

The switch you are looking for is a Nissan accessory that is still available, but hasn't been catalogged (?) in years. It looks/fits perfect, I get $8.86 for it.

Thanks Dave - THAT is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!
I'll look forward to seeing that in a few days, and hopefully get some pics up when complete....although, there really won't be MUCH to see.
