Whats up guys i just wanted a quick opinion on which kind of paint i should use to spray the headlights.. Also wanted to know if i should go glossy or flat paint.. Just leave ur opinions here for me thanx.. One more thing.. do these take all day to do?? Im trying to man up and finally do it so there will be lots of hesitation and thinkin before this is actually done

Doesn't take long to get them open, the paint drying is the longest part. Skip the clear coat because the painted part will be sealed in the housing, unless you really want a very shiny look inside.

i recommend using hi temp engine paint i used gloss black. yes there always is hesitation when ur baking over a few hundred dollar headlights it does take time do do them and definitely dont rush. another thing while u have them open u should add led strips and clear the blinkers

I used normal flat black paint when I did my headlights. I don't see a good reason to use gloss paint. The stock finish is flat except for the actual reflector pieces and trim area around the reflector. Also take your time, do several light coats allowing time to dry in between coats. You don't one heavy coat that runs.

Just because he's dressing the headlights doesn't mean he should go over the top. Painting the headlight housing is like putting on a nice suit. Adding LED strips is like putting on a nice suit with a neon pink tie. I'm not saying it can't work, it's just that not too many people can pull it off with style.

i bought the malibu lights also to clear them but idk where to get a dremel to cut them
adding the l.e.d strips seem tough to do although it sounds like a good idea..
anyone can make it more simple?
and as far as the paint.. i jus bought regular glossy paint from autozone i jus didnt want it to look as if i had cheap paint on there or make the headlights seem like some cheap plastic so i want to make sure its the right one before i use it..
hesitation definetly kicked in dats y its still not done a day later lol

as a matter of fact i change my mind about the l.e.d strip.. being that i live in brooklyn nd dont own a garage im afraid my headlights might get stolen lol
let me rephrase.. they WILL get stolen so im backing down on that idea

i used black semi-gloss engine enamel. i think its perfect

I used semi gloss on mine. I sprayed the last few coats from a distance to give it a texture like automotive plastic. It looks like it would be stock.
