2003 SE (Auto) Unplug Engine Mounts?

As I have found no real pictures or instructions found via a search, has anyone ever taken pictures or written any instructions on how to unplug the motor mounts specifically on an 03 Max SE (auto)?

I have noise and I am quite convinced that it is the motor mounts. I would like to unplug them to confirm.
Where are the harness connectors located? Or can you disable them with a fuse removal?
Will doing this damage the ECU?
Do I need to unhook the battery first?

Thanks in advance...

I have a 2003 SE Auto and have swapped out both my front and rear motor mounts for ES polyurethane bushings and sub bushing, you can simple just unplug it and just leave the front wire hanging if your just checking for possible noise ... you don't need to disconnect the battery and my has had no ill effects with the ECU nor do I have any CEL codes. The electric front mount on our car softens while at idle and stiffens when under load ... I wouldn't recommend driving the car with it unplugged but don't think it would hurt to unplug it and check for your noise issue ... you should be able to access the plug in from the top of the engine bay but you can always jack up the car to get at it from the bottom.

should unplug the battery first, you could pop a fuse...

One of the plugs is beside the o2 sensors, it's a little brown plug, the other one is on the drivers side, again a small brown plug and a little harder to get at.

see the little brown plug? Upper middle of the pic. that's the front mount... look for the other one around the corner. (sorry for stealing the pic)

Good point on possibly blowing a fuse ... disconnect the battery and save the grief

Thanks Guys... That's a big help. I will opt to disconnect the battery first.

What advantages have you noticed since you swapped out the electric motor mounts for ES poly ones?

How much? Was it worth the money??

Thanks!

They are now unplugged, and I see no vibration differences at all...

If you wish to have all the horse power go straight to the wheels and help reduce/eliminate wheel hope, this will definitely to it for you.

03 Maxima Auto Headers with stock OEM engine mounts, watch the engine movement when under Wot.

03 Maxima Headers spacers 6spm, with Polyurethane ES engine mounts ... watch for zero engine movement when under Wot

and this was the video that really convinced me that I needed to have mine swaqpped out, as you watch you see that the Sentra's engine looks like it have places that it want to be and almost climbs right out of the engine bay.

My swap was done be a fellow member, who had to machine a special insert for my 03 auto to have the ES bushing fit properly here is the link that shows some additional photo's and the work done
