Any BC Racing Coilover Users?

I just bought a set and was wondering how they compare to other coilovers and shock/spring combos. The reason I bought them specifically is because the company is located 45 min away from my house incase i need any repairs or rebuild. They seem to be the cheapest coilover with good reviews and with the pillowball style. Anyone concur with this?

From what I've read, the only thing comes close to the BC's are Tein SS's. So if you cant find a deal on Tein's I'd highly recommend the BC's.

um...can you get more than 1 set?

I thought there are BC coilovers and Boss Chen (BC) coilovers? Maybe I'm wrong and they are the same thing. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

i actually bought them lightly used. i've never had any suspension upgrades so a review from me would be useless. As anything good is better than stock. my boy had ksports so that would be one way of comparing.

no BC coilovers are not boss chen. they are made in japan but the company is here in florida. suppositly they are the company that makes coilovers for other companies also.

The above listed website is the Bor Chuan coil overs

I know the people who designed them

Japanese components assembled in Taiwan and even the part numbers are identical. They are another importer

PS: I use tham as well

Good product and beter than the K-sports by far.

it should be the other way around

Honestly, BC's are good but they cannot compare to the Tein SS. Tein SS are more superior. If you cant get the tein SS, BC's are a good alternative.

I had Tein SS in my ute(see signature) and also in a previous Pulsar so I can directly compare them. The MA spec BC's are quite close to the Tein SS but the Tein get their damping rates sorted better. BR spec BC's are better than the K-sports

Justifying the price difference between Tein SS and the BC MA specs can be tough though!

Also, BC manufacture the Greddy, K-sport, D2 and G4 brands(along with a few others) for other companies that outsourced their manufacturing work to suit their own design etc often cutting costs such as using thin wall alloy to save a few dollars. After a few years, BC had enough experience to release their own brand and using better materials for a similiar sale price due to cutting out the middle man is why BC products are better than the other cheap coil over manufacturers

BC coil overs have adjustable camber on the top pillow ball, so it only needs a wheel alignment to correct camber and a small adjustment to toe

I guy in my area sell B&G coil with a set of eibach camber kit. Does i need the camber too or just the coil

This is a damn good post right here. Go Tein SS's or go home, son! After over 5 different spring/strut setups, nothing even comes close (as it should not). BC's are good, don't get me wrong, but I'd rather save up an extra month or two just to have the Teins, but that's just me and my stupidity talking.

I myself have the tein SS and I have had them for a little less than 2 years and with daily driving on NYC roads, they are still perfectly good. Comfort wise they are stock-like...yes, stock like.

Ive sat in 5th gens with BCs and the ride was ok. Ive sat in a 4th gen with BCs and the ride was harsh...very very bad ride.

yes!! OP, save up for another month or two and I guarantee you that you'll be happy you did by getting the tein SS. Out of all my mods I can honestly say the tein SS was by the far the best. I have gone through 4 spring/strut setups including illuminas, blues, h&R, htech, progress and even an illumina/h&r ride (which is supposed to be comfortable) could not compare to what the tein SS can offer. With all the $$$ I spent on previous setups, I could have got the tein SS from the beginning.

I would like to bring this thread back up since I just installed my bc racing coilovers. The ride is amazing. It is very controlled while maintaining a very good comfort level. It is like stock with and lot more control and response. I put it to the highest firmess and it drove like a go-cart. The coilover has 30 "clicks" for firmness. I then set it to 10 and it drove like a smooth controlled car just how daily driving should be. The car is very low, I have no room to lower the front at all. Maybe a inch or less of gap between the inside fender and the tire. Makes me curious to know how the tein ss would feel.

Im thinking about purchasing these coilovers for my 4th gen, but there aren't that many reviews on maximas.

i love the coilovers, you can go from nice and soft to very firm and hard

installation is easy. People can't hate on products they haven't tested themselves. Since your 4th gen the tien ss doesnt apply to you. I have raised the car a bit since last time b/c i kept scraping my inside fender. I have not found a negative to this setup yet, maybe understeer is my issue now...but its fwd ftl.

Had them, actually they're still on the car. I enjoyed them for the most part. Can't say they have the same comfort ride like TEIN but they feel better slammed them K-Sports.

Damn near slammed on 20"s

tucked in factory 18"s

great handling for sure.

So nobody likes the ksports? I love the BBK i bought from them and i was seriously thinking about buying the ksport coilovers with the pillow dealy, i have about 40k miles on my tokioco blues and the ride is getting rough, for 300 extra bucks I might as well go for something i'll be happy with i will probably go TIEN SS. But if anyone has had the ksport GT prodamper system i'd be happy to hear your input
