Clearance/Marker Lamp Keeps Blowing!?
I've had my Fogs wired to my Clearance lights for almost as long as I've owned my car (7+yrs) and my passenger CLEARANCE lamp seems to suffer premature death as a result.
FYI: I ran an aux. wire into the fusebox direct to the clearance lamp to bypass the circuit, and tapped pwr to the fogs from there....
I now have HID's installed in the fogs, and run them quite often as DRL's.
I've now burned-out two sets of LED clearance bulbs (clusters) and even the grounded / shielded version that's SUPPOSED to be surge-proof.
This has been happening b4 the HID's came onboard two yrs ago, so I don't think they're the cause.
I'm no wiz @ diagnosing electrical gremlins....anybody got any ideas???
Bulbs seem to be lasting about 1 year regardless of make or style -- this CAN'T be normal??!
Am I missing an inline fuse between the fusebox and the bulb??? WTF?
Should I just STFu & keep extra bulbs on-hand for the imminent ANNUAL failure???
input welcome.

Did you have the fogs wired directly inline with the marker lights or did you do the fog light mod in the rely box? I have done 3 cars at the relay box with no issues. If your setup is inline you will blow lamps and possibly cause a short or worse yet an electrical fire.

Relay box -- one of the original write-ups....can't remember who started that one....
It's been said that HEAT from the engine compartment can be bad for the LED's...but I go thru reg. Filament Bulbs ALMOST as regularly -- so i don't know if that's it or not?!?!
I'm probably just grasping for straws....just wanna make sure I'm not missing something here.
Those LED clusters are like $10ea. from Autoillumination!!
Might just go BACK to Filament style....but they look so YELLOW.
