Can this be done?

Can you make the rear windows and sunroof open when pressing and holding the unlock button on the fob instead of just opening the front windows? What would need to be rewired or modded? Would be really useful to me.

Couldn't you just rewire some things to where ever the fob goes and make it put the rest of the stuff down?

it doesn't work like that. I was going to rebuild my engine to make it run on water too, but haven't found the instructions for that either.

I doubt you can get the sunroof to open since it has a fixed switch (ie: it matters what happens with it even when the car is off; if you move it, it doesn't return to its original position). However, the rear windows shouldn't be terribly difficult if you can locate a wiring diagram of the alarm system.

It is possible. On Lexus and BMW the sunroof opens as well. You have to go aftermarket, but can be done.....

I don't have the link any more but there was a company that made a circuit you could wire in. It would let you control other things with the factory remote. You could roll all the windows up and down and control the sunroof.

If you had the info on this, I would love to see it if you could find it. I was hoping someone had done something similar already. I didn't find anything though.

This would be good for the making the windows go up. I linked to the PDF instructions because you can't directly link to the product. I wish there was a way to integrate the rear windows into it atleast.

Like I said, find a wiring diagram (maybe in and FSM..can't view it right now since I'm at work) of the alarm system, and it's possible you just need to splice the wires from the rear windows into it...

I'm sure that would work, I was just hoping someone had done it already that actually knew what to do

sure, hold the unlock button and the front windows roll down, you may have to press more than once though, but just hold the button

the rear windows cannot be made to roll all the way down if thats what you were asking. Has to do with the shape of the door and its position relative to the rear wheel wells

That feature is not present with the factory remote on 5th gens. Unless you are referring to some kind of rewire.

The remote fob window roll-down feature was skipped on the 00-01 for some reason. I wish I had it on mine....
