Upper intake removal
#41
None of the above, i unhooked the battery, left it sit like 6 hours, hooked it up, car would barely run or idle, no power, backfiring thru the intake, it was bad, limped it home and ordered a new MAF, let the battery unhooked for 8 hours, installed MAF, fired right up, purrs good, drove it, feels like a new motor, no pinging or hesitation, so far so good, iam going for a ride now and gona hit some steep grades and see if it pings, if not i beleive it was the MAF the whole time.

Am I right, or am I right?? :-)
Seriously, what code are you getting? And this time at least listen to input from others.

I am going to be brutally honest with you. You have got P0430 code. Against all the advice given in this forum, you *will* go and change that O2 sensor. When the light comes back on again, you will be here screaming your head off.

You are right, you did not mention which code you got after changing MAF. P0138 and P0139 is saying bad rear O2 sensor. However, before throwing new rear sensor, you should rule out other causes such as lose wiring, bad ground etc.

Yup. I've got driveablity problems past 1st gear just before 4,000 RPM. Got a used MAF on the way and fuel filter.
Professor, sorry to bump the old thread but did the new oxygen sensor resolve that DTC?
Edit: I'm not 100% sure its the same for the 2000 Maxima but for the 2002 Maxima Standard plugs are PLFR5A-11 and 4A is hot type, 6A is cold type.
