Manual swap
So I ordered 1 of 2 brand new 01 20th AE w/lsd tranny from courtesy. Only 2 left in distribution, 1 now =). Doing a auto to manual swap. Anyone know if i can use the auto ECM after the swap? At least enough to get to the dealership w/o towing my car there. I have a manual ecm but cant use it because the key wont be calibrated. If anyone has done this swap on their own this would be good to know. I know the few that have, had it done by nissan which means there car was already there to get recalibrated. Thanks

Ok, i got a conversion harness, no need to worry bout wiring. Now I need pics of 5th gen center console removed. I dont see where to bolt up the ebrake. If anyone has pics of 5th gen with center console out that would be awesome. =)

Nobody has interior pics of center console removed? It can be auto or manual. Im not seeing the bolt for it as FSM says 2 nuts hold it in place. I just need to know if I need to get bolts or do drilling or what. Thanks

Ok I got all my parts, tranny shift linkage and am ready for the swap. The problem I have now is mounting the e-brake. I went to the junk yards and got the shift linkage and got a snap of the center for ebrake and it has this metal hump in the center. It does not look like its welded but some kind of adhesive. My center does not have this hump and is flat. Should I get them to try to remove the hump or figure out some bracket for the ebrake?
Here is a max center
Camera is dead so I will post my center console when battery is charged in next post.

The front bolt for the ebrake has to be higher than the rear. What do yall suggest? Anyone know someone who can make a custom bracket to drill 4 holes to mount the bracket and use to mount the ebrake? Im determined to get this through. Everything else is plug and play except this.

I thought bout that, but front washer would have to be 1 1/2 inches tall, wouldnt be stable. I had an idea of getting a CNC block 1 1/2 inches high and have 2 bolts to hold it down and tapped in the middle. Anyone know a good CNC place? I can send the design and dimensions.

Alright, I got the pieces designed and sent to my friends friends work where they have a water jet. Now my last question is, with our 5th gens, 2000 and 2001 dont use VSS, but 2000.5 and models with traction control does. Do I use a VSS or the Cap for the plug for the VSS? Im a little confused on this. If anyone can shed some light that would be great. Ill post pix of the water-jetted part once it comes in next week.

Any one have any input on the speed sensor? I have both speed sensor and sensor cap. Will i need the speed sensor or just use the cap? Im putting the tranny in on monday so some advice would be nice.

Got everything worked out. Only had to splice 4 wires. Still waiting for CNC custom block, I dont understand how but they keep fuking it up..... Anyways, once that piece comes back, I can mount the ebrake. Ill post picks once that is complete. Besides that she runs great. Completely new car

Too much, bought everything brand new. Only thing bought used was shift linkage, clutch pedal from junk yard and ECM from fellow org member.
Brand new tranny from factory: $1900
Brand new MC, SC and SS clutch line: $200
ECM: $75
Shfit Linkage and clutch pedal assem: $120
Chromoly Flywheel: $200
Centerforce DF Clutch: $250
Non-Electric mounts and misc bolts and acc for swap: $500
Short Shifter: $70
Nismo Shift ***: $70
AE brake pedal: $100
Axles: $200
Might be more parts im not listing, but about 3500+. Could have been cheaper if I got a junkyard or rebuilt tranny, but ive had my fair share of both and refused to get either for this. I am overall thoroughly happy with everything. My infiniti is my 1st auto ever and last. I owned 3 manual vehicles before and dont think ill ever get another auto....

It only took me 2 days to do the swap. Its straight forward.
How can you hate it? This project was to complete my daily driver. I dont plan on any real mods after this. Im gonna get a 95 s14 as my project car. I been wanting to build an s14 since 98 when s14b came out. Just now finally settling down with house payment and what not. =\
