P0505-Help!

Hey guys,

So i got the check engine light on and the code came up P0505 which was the idle control system, so i got it replaced and then no problems for about 2 months, but then i recently the eng light came back on saying the same code.

So it is a faulty part, or do i need to replace the ECU, or anything else?

Thanks in advance!

Are you having any problems with the idle? I had the p0505 recently. Check out this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...-stalling.html I ended up replacing the IACV and ECM.

Seems like this issue is becoming more common as we start to see our 5th gens age....

I have this issue as well and I would start with replacing the IACV and go from there.

Did you get the code re-checked? Same one, different?

You can get it checked for free at autozone, pep boys, etc. Hopefully you're not paying your mechanic to check a code. Have you tried the Idle Air Relearn? If it won't take the relearn, then your ECM is probably fried as well.
