transmission failed today..just got rebuilt
As some may know, about 3 days ago I had my transmission rebuilt by Aamco. All was pretty good until the morning. I backed out of my driveway in reverse, and when I shifted to drive....nothing! The engine just reved as if I was in neutral. I put the car in park shut it off and tried again. no luck. I tried putting it into D1, and that shifted it right away as if nothing was wrong. I then put it into drive and just revs again. fineally I felt a jerck, and Drive started working fine. No codes were stored, but I left the car in my driveway to be towed back to Aamco.
The guy at Aamco said that he could not replicate the problem and that he would keep it overnight and try again. He said it was more then likely some lubricative stuff from the VB that melted on to a solonoid? idk....any ideas what this could be...

The car is driving fine now, a little hard for anyone here to troubleshoot it for him without seeing the car.
The solenoids (and the VB) are both bathed in transmission oil, sounds like a BS excuse, rather than just saying he didn't know.

Understood. The comments about Aamco in now way contributed to the question he asked, That's all. Anyway, Good luck with the trans bro. I know how you feel. Chances are that if it did what you say it did, that it will do it again on another cold start. They should be able to replicate it. GL

yes it does have a 1 year warranty. I just want my damn maxima back. im tired of waiting and waiting for their **** service.
the reason I took it to aamco is because we known someone who works there and said that they would check it out. little did I know checking it out meant ripping apart my tranny, then explaining to me that if I didnt get the rebuild done, then it would cost me 400 bucks just for labor of ripping apart the tranny. I was left with no choice. I couldnt just thrown away the 400, but now I feel like I just threw away over 2000

AAMCO= All automatics must come out
I found out after having the transmission rebuilt in my old Accord that you are a lot better off getting a working used transmission. The shop that did mine had it in several times for warranty work, one time they had it two damn weeks. Still had the 3-2 downshift flare after each rebuild. Finally they got a new owner and rebuilder and they rebuilt it right. Worked great for 18 months and then something let loose inside and was clogging up the pump. Ended up getting a used transmission and it worked flawlessly the last 2 years I had the car.
