Cattman 3" catback
#441
I'm bumping this thread to create more interest and orders to get this going. If I could buy one without you guys it would have been bought already. Need more peeps in on this deal!
Brian- What's our numbers look like now? How many do we have, and how many do we need to get this rolling.
Anyone out there with one already wanting to sell theirs, shoot me a message. New batch looks indefinite until we get more headcounts.

Since some of these are a few months old, I'd have to confirm them, but right now I have 5 orders for the 3" exhaust, and I'll need about 8 to trigger the production. We're not really that far off.

I asked a custom shop nearby that would do a 3" for me and he said it would take about 7days to do because he'd have to send out for the mandrel bending, but being as it would be done the same as Brians (not crush bend as normal custom 3" has) the price was over $1000. I ordered the cattman and it was under $1K even including shipping (west to east coast) installation and the before/after dyno runs. So I wouldn't say it's expensive - unless you really just can't afford it, which is totally understandable. If that is the case - Rock the cattman 2.5" catback. It's a very fair trade. However I am glad I spent the extra $$ on the 3" in looks great, sounds great - and assuming the Mrs President approves ($6k is a crap ton of $$$), It'll help my turbo system breathe rather nicely.
I bet you can save the cash by the time the order is ready to go. Good Luck All - enjoy the ride

You could go this route... except with my limited expertise, there is a reason exhaust mounts have play in them, and that is because they are not suppose to be mounted in 1 location. Due to the motion of the engine... the exhaust needs to have play in it or else something could / will snap (a hanger, a flex section in your y-pipe, etc). Also by doing this there is no fluid motion to the exhaust anymore, no way for the mounts to cushion a jolt from another area... I would read my above post for a better solution.
just my 2 cents
just my 2 cents
here's a couple more cents for ya. I had a lazy day and paid for the mechanic to change my oil/cabin air filter and a couple other pieces of work, but I had mentioned the banging problem and asked if he could throw on a couple of heavy duty hangers. I did this for two reasons:
1: We've had a lot of input as to the part number and brand hanger to purchase IOT solve this problem. Helpful but not really (I'm too impatient to search hunt and guess).
2: Exhaust shops won't typically just sell the hanger itself do to a lack of profitablity (I asked about 3 of them).
so I killed two birds with one stone, got the needed work done on my car and the mechanic installed the hangers at no charge. It just made my life easier.
It's up to you, but the various solutions are out there.
