Changed o2 sensor mpg plumeted?

Alright so i had a bad o2 sensor with code p0139, which is bank 1 sensor 2. I changed the sensor and now ever since than my car seems to idle higher about 1.2k previously at around 700-800? Also my mpg has went from around 18-20 to my last tank was right at around 13

Is it possible i put in the wrong o2 sensor, or what could other explanations be?

Never heard of that. More detailed information about the sensor used could be helpful; i.e., brand, part number, etc.
