Strange as it is, I have sheer silver, but my firewall placard says Sterling Mist. Hmmm. Mine was a 07/02 production car. I always found that weird, though I'm certain the car has never been repainted nor hit.

i have sterling mist and that seems to be the most common maxima color for our years. i do really like the sheer silver... i had a pearl white 00 maxima b4 i updated to my 3.5. most sheer silvers that i see on the road r the titanium edition, but they only offered the TE on the 03s. i have an 02 with heated seats, steering wheel, leather, moonroof but they didnt call it the titanium edition. think just the meridian edition

Titanium edition cars have a different wheel finish, somewhat glossy instead of just matte silver. Also interior trim pieces are a different colour I believe.
Here in Canada, every 2003 SE is automatically Titanium edition.

Well I had always noticed that my wheels were a lot shinier than other Max wheels I had seen. My interior is grey leather. I haven't been inside any other Maxima than mine to be able to compare, bought it with 20,000 miles in 2005. The wheels in the back have some kind of black stains on them. It looks like black spray paint, I don't know if they are peeling or if they got something on them. They were like that when I bought it, got it for a steal ($18k) so I wasn't woried about it. Oh, and yes the picture is deceiving because the wheels all look the same.

to the OP, the easiest way to determine if your is the TE look at your wheels. Look at the wheels in my sig a few posts up. those are te rims

oh really? Actually he DOES have the titanium edition package. Sheer Silver and Polished Titanium (2 unique colors only for 03) came with TE packages while the normal colors like grey luster, sterling mist etc had the TE package as an option.

Yea that other guy said I didn't have one and then said, "I'm sorry." I didn't care if I had one, I was just curious because I didn't know how to tell.
It was weird, like I said I bought the car with 20,000 miles in 2005. Well I always saw other Maximas that didn't look to be the same color silver so I was worried that mine was repainted because it had been wrecked. I'm pleased to know the truth now though!

The 2003 Maxima I am picking up next week looks silver. But the original window sticker that was in the glove box says Sterling Mist. It has not been re-painted. It looks NOTHING like this picture from Edmunds.com that's supposed to be Sterling Mist (below). Is this actually a good representation of Sterling Mist?
