6th gen BBK related question to set something straight

I have been reading alot of threads about the 6th gen BBK setup, how its bolt on and everything. I was thinking about a set of Hawk Pads and Slotted Rotors, for an 04-05 max. I know I need the 6th gen calipers, but my main question is about the caliper bracket. I read in some threads I need the 6th gen bracket to work, and I read in some threads that I do not...

To the point... Will I need a 6th gen caliper bracket for the calipers to use on my 5.5 gen?

They are totaly different brackets in the fact that you cant use a 5.5 bracket with a 6 gen caliper and vice-versa. but the 6th gen bracket will bolt on to the 5.5 knuckle

no what i was saying to get the 6th gen to work you need to use all the parts. The 6th gen caliper rotor and bracket. they all bolt up to the 5th gen

That is what I originaly asked. I know I need the 6th gen calipers, pads, and rotors, but I heard different about the brackets. I just wanted to verify that I needed the 6th gen brackets too.

sorry for the hijack but would this be the same procedure for an a33a/5.0gen? I've only read about people doing the 6th gen BBK on the 5.5 gen if I recal correctly.

1. Both driver and passenger side AUTO axles work fine.
2. AUTO flywheel bolts work fine.

To set this thread straight..

To do the 6th gen BBK, you need;

04+ Maxima:
Brake Rotors
Brake Calipers
Caliper Bracket
Preferably new brake pad shim kit while you have the caliper off
Brake Pads

5th gen brake line can be re-used.
4th gen im not so sure about.

For the 5th gen, you can reuse the caliper bracket bolts that go through your wheel hub no poblem.
For the 4th gen, you can also reuse the caliper bracket bolts BUT will have to drill the bolt holes on your wheel hub to 14mm.

Get it? Got it? Good ;D Happy Turkey Day.

Chances are that yours came with the bracket already attached to the caliper if you bought it new. I work with auto parts and this is usually how it comes.

(its U shaped then caliper goes between it)
