Graduated last night
I had a 4th gen, got rearended at 50mph and it was totalled. I drove home last night with a nice 5th gen. Here's my graduation pics.
As you can see, the door will not even open.
This is what i drove home with last night.
It has the stock hood now.
Thank you to the previous owner "Michaelnyden", thank you maxima.org for hooking us up, and for making this possible.
It took me 4 hours to get home last night, drove beautiful.
Michael, you can stop by and visit the car, i believe you have visiting rights. LOL. He was sad to see it drive away from it's home.

Congrats, I was very sad to see it go! Good to see it found a good home with an owner who will take care of it, just make sure it only sees mobil one supersyn 10w30 and chevron 91 octane only and redline/motul fluids to continue the tradition...lol. It was almost surreal seeing it drive off for the last time, seeing the back end is not something I'm used to...all my neighbors and old school MCC guys know how much sweat and blood went into that car. No details were overlooked, right down to the custom plate. Enjoy, and keep me updated with pics and details about anything you do to the car...although all it really needs is an emanage ultimate with tune and that thing would fly, as I remember it. By the way, open that electric cutout, I've gotten comments from ferrari and lambo owners (true story) around here saying it sounds better than their cars...straight out those cattman headers...nothing like it! I was the envy of all my friends who found that sound as intoxicating as it was loud and whenever a debate came up about who's car sounded the best, there was no question, they would all unanimously point to me...lol.

if he was at a dead stop probably, but if he was even doing 5mph that makes a huge difference in crash physics. Plus maximas are deceptive that way, it looks minor but the repair bill comes back as thousands of dollars (it's all hidden damage)...I remember from my 4th gen.

When you open the trunk, the floor is crushed, the spare popped, and that rear fender is pushing against the tire, i barely got it off the freeway. Also if you look close you can see the body is bent towards the top of the rear door. The plastic bumper cover came back out, thats why it doesnt look like a lot of damage. The person who hit me, said that he never hit the brakes and he was swerving at the time and just clipped the rear of my max, he went into the center wall.

They were in good shape, but i already took the money from the insurance. One of the autobody guys bought the car for 900 and is driving it around town. I guess if he can do all the labor, its cheap to fix. I looked at the estimate and it was 7500 and 1000 of that was parts.
