Engine pulling advise...

Ok I need advise/techniques from guys who have actually done this. This will be my first FWD engine pull, I've done RWD pulls no problem. But this looks a bit more involved. I want to leave the engine as intact as possible for resale.
I was thinking of supporting the engine and trani with an engine hoist and disconnecting the subframe, and just lower it to the ground.
Which is the easiest way to pull an engine out of an 01 automatic?

1: Straight up through the top; and can this be done with the trani attached?
2: Drop the whole mess down on the sub frame. Axles and all.
3: Cut out the radiator support and pull it up and forward. This one because its a parts car and it will be scrapped.

Option #2.

Definitely easier, plus the trans will come out also. Since you are scrapping the car, no need to leave it it. Saves you no time at all.
