I did a search, and if I am understanding it correctly, the 2k2's have larger brakes?
Last winter I drove my truck and stored the max, this year, I have no truck
I did a search and it looks like I can fit 16" wheels from an altima on my max? I tried to do the 17's with michelon rubber at the end of last winter, it was the most useless car in the snow...
If I can not use the 16" wheel from an altima, what should I look for?
Thanks in advance!

just get some 15" with snow tires. best bet for the buck. IMO.
I don't think the 15" wheels will fit over 5.5g brakes. AFAIK, you need at least 16" for proper clearance. Altimas got the same lug patterns, as well as many other Nissans. I just picked up a cheap set of 16" steelies for winter. Mounted Blizzaks on them and loved them. Went up hills the gave me trouble before and stopped with confidence. This winter is supposed to be a bad one (if you believe the weathermen), so it's good that you're thinking ahead.

Yeah I am hoping its a bad one, bought a snow blower last year, used it 3 times Bought a snowmobile, took it out maybe 3 times
The wheels I have on there now, are like ice skates. I tried to drive it in the snow, and the ass end kept coming around and I had zero traction
So its official, 16's will clear the 5.5 brakes? I remember last year I was searching around here and I wasn't exactly sure...

wouldnt those crappy black steel rims work over maxi brakes? Canadian winter is coming here soon and I'd rather just leave my summer rubber on the proper rims while driving through the salt on POS rims.

my 17" stock rims are POS. I was thinking putting snow tires on them and get a set of 18s for summer.
so i'm looking for some winter tires and was thinking blizzaks 215/55/17 (studless) $75 ea or general altimax arctic 205/60/16 (studable) $65, still need to get steel rims. is 1st option narrow enough? 02 max se
I have put 16" Blizzak LM-22's on my 01, and I survived the worst winter in Toronto of the last 50 years (last year) while my ABS/TCS computer was fried...(funny how 1 little ABS sensor can cause so much hassle..fixed now)
You'll appreciate moving down to a narrower tire.. plus the Maxima looks so dirty with those black steelies..
I'm having a hard time remembering myself... So far this year, we've had one dusting overnight that disappeared by the morning. And no forecasts for any snow in the near future. Temps have been pretty mild too. Only used my coat a couple times this year. Today was 62*F.
Earlier this year, all the weathermen were warning of the worst snow accumulation in decades and how home heating oil/gas was going to go through the roof, so it was a good time to lock in contracts or get on a pre-payment plan, etc... I don't know if they were just idiots or got swept up in the high gas price hysteria. They said the same thing last year and it turned out to be pretty mild except for a couple weeks. Of course, the winter is no where near over, so maybe I'll keep shut (knock on wood).
i have...cooper weathermaster ST-2 205/60/16 on black ugly steelies ...work amazing..no rubbing.. and im lowered in progress..oh and they have an option for studs,.. but i dont have any
well for 200 bucks assuming they would fit right, (might depend on if ur lowerred or not,.. im not sure) there def going to be better *in snow* then your all seasons
