2003 with 72k miles...have an oil burning/leaking problem..how could this happen already? my mechanic said im better off getting rid of it than repairing it. i just bought the car 6 months ago. anyone have any ideas?

All these claims over 100,000 miles are very encouraging, although I'm not sure I'll ever get there in Upstate, NY. Our winters are cancer to cars. Anyway, I've been fortunate to always work close to home, while still driving every day...

2003 SE 6MT bought in August, 2002.
