If what you mean by "big impact on performance" is a significant increase in power, apart from headers or nitrous, nothing else is really going to do that for these cars.

ive heard different stories about headers not give much power to our cars and saying its not worth the money for the little power it gives

For max gain, get headers, regardless the year of your car.
