it seems like you're not loosing anything by having your vehicle inspected, just make sure you get a second opinion on the "problem areas" from another tech/profesional before you fix the problem(s).

Update on 100 point check up

I just had the 100 point check up done at a local dealer.

Nothing wrong with my '01 Maxima GXE with 80k miles, except 3 small bulbs (one turn signal and 2 parking) were out.

I am a reasonable person and asked how much for them to change out the bulbs, willing to give them some business with the free check up and a free car wash. Well, it was $65. That's simply too much and I bought the bulbs from the parts dept and did the change out right there within 5 mins. Total cost was less than $6 for the 3 bulbs.

Don't really understand what they are thinking. I would have paid $30 or so to let them do it for a $30 profit.

again...simple maintenance should not be done at the service department.
the majority of the cost is labor. is it hard for them to change bulbs? no, but it takes their time...time they could be using to work on a real problem.

while i was waiting for my check to be done 2 years ago, i noticed the following
female customer - "ticking sound that got faster as she sped up" - nail in tire - $100
male customer - "blinker sound is fast" - several bulbs out - $90
female customer - "key fob not working" - battery is dead - $50

Well, it took me no more than 10 mins.

Pop the hood and twist the turn signal light out and change the bulb. Pry out the parking lights and twist and change bulbs, one front and one rear.

I think dealer is just too greedy.
