I debadged my maxima not knowing the Nissan emblem had holes behind it, how did you guys cover up the holes? and theres still residue from the glue, any suggestions on how to take it off? I tried using googone, wd40 and heating it!
Heating it and scraping it with your thumbnail will get most of it, use a light polish for the rest. It may take a while, even with a buffer it took me a couple minutes to completely remove the residue. I left the "Nissan" emblem because I knew it would leave holes. If you don't want to have them filled and painted at a body shop, I'd just put it back.

Painters tape on the outside of the trunk to cover the holes. Pop your trunk, mix some bondo up and apply some to cover up the holes from behind (make sure you put enough). Give it some time to dry up and slowly remove the painters tape to reveal the covered up holes. Now use touch up paint to cover up and your all done. If you have a system in your trunk...the bondo might fall off after a while so be careful.
I read this somewhere and I know there is a thread with pictures but I can't find it anywhere.

That is really the only way to go about it, the other way that I have heard about is similar, but a bit more in depth
get a dowel rod that will fit the hole snug, from there you want to cut it to fit within the hole (to the point where it is snug from the outside, and hopefully the inside, you then put a small layer of bondo on each side, sand and paint...

yea thats another way too but a little more risky. "sand and paint"....someone that has no idea what they are doing might mess up their trunk.

That is true.... that is why I said it is a bit more complicated, but a way I personally would take (though I probably would go with some form of metal rod myself...
you can use bug and tare remover got my double side tape off real clean

I used a buffer and some light rubbing compound to get the stubborn glue off after I de-badged and used goo-gone. Worked great.
As for hiding the holes... I used blue tape on the inside and then applied Black RTV sealant and used a wet finger to smooth it until it was flush, then used touch-up paint.
I tried the tape on the outside and did not like the results.. too many air bubbles and the texture did not work. I wanted something flexible because it needed to endure what JL Audio can do to it.
I agree, I like the black key hole when there is not a backup camera mounted in it. I think I'll do that to my door key holes, since I always use keyless and won't have to worry about scratches.
