Alternator Amperage

Quick question here, i know some people have upgraded the alternator to a higher amperage, does this require any other changes? I have searched about this but havent found anyone saying anything other than switching due to subs. I have an underdrive pulley and at idle i have always noticed a little dimming on the headlights since i installed it. Just curious if going to a 120-140A alternator requires anything else. thanks.

I bought a 160A alternator and it bolted right up and it was fine nothing needed to be changed. these high amperage alternators are all rebuilds

BTW our stock amps is 120

FSM says 110A for 2000-2003. Not sure it really makes a difference.

I knew it would FIT just needed to see if the higher output internals caused any issues on the rest of the electrical system.

Thanks.

Correct is right, it's stamped on the alternator itself. Even when i had the VQ20 the alternator was also rated as 110A. So it seems all the VQ's alternators are the same.
