I have got to say that I am in love with my max all over again. this combo absolutely ROCKS. i have them set to 5 all around and despite the crappy roads in Detroit, I've had rarely had an instance where it would bottom out, and no, i did not cut my bumpstops. I actually purchased new mounts and boots as well, and aside from this odd "dry squeegee" sound when turning the wheel while stopped, the complete package is about the best i could have hoped for. My opinion is this is substantially more firm, but hardly stiff by any stretch of the imagination. body roll has been heavily subdued I wouldn't hesitate to purchase them again. below is my complete list. Special thanks to Jeff @ IRP for pairing me up with these and consulting Tokico directly on the pairing.

Eibach Pro-Kit
Tokico Illuminas (5F/5R)
Tokico Shock Boots (box says hitachi make)
Tokico replacement Strut/Shock mounts(again, box says hitachi)

I got the whole setup from Import Replacement Parts. Thanks Jeff!

PS- for those who are curious, it seems like these boots/bumpstops are the way to go. I honestly think they are a bit shorter than OEM, and they act like a cap to the boot so they are easy to remove and service/cut. I would say NO to cutting them though, All but the most severe bumps were fine with no bottoming. and before you guess it's because of the high damping, I initially had them set softer, and I still wasnt having a problem at setting 3, I just personally love the firmest damping setting.

I just recently installed this spring/strut setup on my Max as well. The drop is great. It's not too low but still looks awesome. I have yet to experiment with all the settings, but I started off at 3F/3R. Body roll has definitely improved and the ride is firm but not stiff or jarring. I reused my OEM bumpstops because they still looked good and I did not cut them. I have had no problems with bottoming out. All in all, it's a great setup. Now I just need to invest in some SFC's and I'll be all set...

All this Came from Import Replacement Parts. Not expensive and if you have high mileage or bad roads, I totally recommend buying all of these parts to go with your suspension:

Tokico Strut/Shock Boot Front w/Bumper Kit

Part number: HK75004/12
Tokico Strut/Shock Boot Rear w/Bumper Kit
Part number: HK75008/57
Tokico Strut/Shock Front Mount Kit
Part number: HK40030
Tokico Strut/Shock Rear Mount Kit
Part number: HK31024

Give Jeff a call, He's a cool guy and can help if you need it.

Sorry, Didn't get pics of the boots, but just imagine the bellows part of the boot(the actual cover) with an off-white hard foam cap. They are fairly loose and the bumpstop pops right out. It's like a multi-section wedge of that hardened foam simular to OEM. My impression was that they are shorter than stock, but I can't be 100%.

Pics of the Drop Coming. Ideally I had plans to get rims and I was going to hold off til then, but I know

More to Come...

Welcome to the club

Btw I used to keep mine at 5/5 with zip ties on the front springs for racing but with 110 miles of driving everyday I keep the illuminas at 2/2 and they are a little floaty but on the highway its perfect.

Trurida18; Everything I've read on the issue points out that Bumpstops don't need to be cut for the H&Rs.... I almost got those at one time but after getting the Eibachs, I'm geeked about sporting around the twisties again.

sciff; I know what you mean about the long haul; I think I'm doing roughly the same Mileage. I wasn't even working yesterday and I've already put 100mi on the setup before I parked it. The float on my old, worn out OEM shocks has made me somewhat adamant about managing dive and roll, so until my kidneys or spine notice, I'm totally happy with 5/5.

...again, I LOVE this setup

I'm looking at using this setup as well. My suspension is going on my 2001 (117,000 miles). Sounds like it's a good choice.

Prob should do the bushings while your at it, but be warned it is a rather long job. I just did some bushings on my rx7 and I basically set them on fire for an hour or so and that turned them into ash for the most part so with my buddies press it was pretty easy from there.

Look for used springs I paid even more than I really needed to cause I wanted the springs right away so I got them for 100$ with some miles on them.

alright; Pics coming tomorrow! and this weekend i took my bro out corner carving in our favorite backroads of the southwest ohio variety and his verdict is that I have the family's 93 Rx7 beat. I'd say that's a pretty damn fine compliment considering the comparison.

Lol you can put coilovers on a maxima and it still wont beat a stock rx7 around the corners

You are gonna have your hands very full when trying to run with that rx7 in the corners or straights

well, considering the rx7 is stock with 110k on it and kelly chargers on the wheels, and it's an automatic I actually may have a shot until the secondary turbo's spun up, lol

I recently put this setup in my car as well..its not too low but good enough to notice..with the stillen kit coming on I was worried about snow, but i think it should be okay-if it isn't, the lip comes off so easily.

-Just to double check, 5/5 would be the softest setting right? and 1/5 the roughest?

5 is hardest afaik. 1 is softest. between 2-3 is where OEM shocks are tuned.

5 Ftmfw!!!!! I have a system in my trunk and there is barely any sagging!! Before I could fit one finger in with ease and now I have to put a little force to get my finger into the wheel gap.

for some reason my threads always turn out like this, lol. I've already put like 1,000mi on my setup and it's only been a week! so far I think I'm gonna need to land me some SFCs, and my new tires should be the icing on the cake

For sure SFCs. I'd recommend General Exclaims for summer tires. Bang for the buck.

actually, I think I'm going to try the Goodyear F1 All-Seasons. I need to maintain an A/S compound because the weather up here in Michigan is all over the map even as late as may sometimes. I heard awesome things about the exclaims and also the new RE960s, but the tread design on the GYs remind me more of the Michelins, which in my 60k or so on them, have been killer in the rain and pretty reasonable in the snow.

damn eibachs drop the rear a lot or is it b/c of the way the wheel well is shaped? Either way its an uneven drop...sorta what I have right now w/ h&rs all around hehe

Quick question and my apologies for it being o/t. I have my illuminas set to 1 in the front and 2 in the rear. Is there a reason no one runs the settings on "1"? Its the most comfy for me...

Cause not everybody thinks "1" is the most comfortable. "5" for me feels very comfortable.

I run 5/5. I like handling and the ride is still good. Even Cutler, who drives a Titan, borowed my max for the day last week and commented on how surprised he was at how good the ride was.

As to the drop, the front takes a bit longer to settle. I had someone today comment on how even my drop was front and back.

Look at the pic on the right side of my sig to see. The pic on the left is deceiving because I have the trunk full of track stuff and a set of wheels in the backseat
