Related to those 17" tire threads . . .

In one of those threads (more bad news for tire upsizing) you posted some info from a Pirelli rep regarding the general consequences of mounting a tire on a rim that's too narrow.

Out of curiosity, was there any discussion of mounting tires on rims wider than the recommended range? Or could the Pirelli guy be talked into providing some info on this?

Thanks,

Norm

No, there wasn't any discussion of mounting tires on rims wider than the recommended range. I'll send you an e-mail with the guy's info and you can contact him yourself if you want to.

And yeah, you got it right this time.
