For any with Tokico Illuminas and S.tech combo

I have done plenty of research on the Tokico Illuminas and have come to the conclusion that this will indeed be my next set of struts/shocks. I was only wondering if any members have these paired up with the S.techs and what setting would be most comparable to a stock like ride. (I'm aware nothing is the same as stock but the stock suspension but I am trying to get as close as possible to a smoother ride rather than the KYB GR2's) I love the look of the S.tech drop so I will be keeping the springs and swapping out the GR2's for the Illuminas.

Any info or opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Joe

No setting will get you close to stock. Its is a very agggresive ride no matter what setting the illuminas are on. You'll either love it or hate it. Personally I love it as I hardly drive my car in parts of the city where roads are bad. But you have to be prepared to feel it when you do hit a bump in the road.

I just ordered this very set-up and am waiting for it to arrive. My comparison will be biased though as for the past few weeks I've been riding on a blown rear strut. I'm sure it'll be a lot better

I had my Illuminas set at 3F/4R when I ran 18x8 G35 coupe rims with 245/40/18 tires. When I switched to 19x8.5 Speedy rims with 245/35/19 tires, I changed the setting to 2F/3R.

No kidding, so you don't like the feel of the set-up but you like the lowered look? Or you hate both?

Thanks for opinions guys! Any more with this same set-up and feedback on it, whether you like or hate the ride. I'm just trying to find a smoother ride instead of my GR2's. I know the S.techs usually make the front bouncy regardless of what strut but I was wondering if a certain setting on the Illuminas may help decrease the bouncy feeling up front. Overall the GR2's have been good to me on smooth roads that is, but I believe they are starting to give out, the driver rear side sits just about 1/8- 1/4 inch lower than the passenger rear, with no one in vehicle! And the fronts I've noticed have been starting to wear the front tires more so on the inner tread lately, and I rotate tires every 6K miles and the tires are brand new (Falken Ziex 512 only use them in the winter Dec-March and this is only the 2nd winter I have driven on them.) I know that can be a problem with camber adj but since owning the GR2's in 04 they have never worn out the Nitto 555's unevenly until Nov/Dec 06 when I changed to my winter tires that's when I noticed the 555's were starting to wear prematurely on the inner tread. I'm hoping this is all just caused by weak/blown struts.

I got this setup and I like the look, but the ride is crap. Little bumps are muffled by the illuminas, but the mid to big bumps bottom out like crazy. Example, most on ramps for the freeway go from asphault (speel check?) to concrete... and there is almost always a 1-3 inch hump where they meet, and when I hit that... it's painful. I hate it. Manholes... when there's a 1 inch sink or more... painful... So I'm in the market now to change this.
