Snow in wheels threw wheels off balance!
We had a snowstorm in Chicago (of course my Max is lowered on S.Techs, fun fun fun in the snow) and there was so much snow piled on the backside of my stocks that when I was driving to work the next day the steering wheel would shimmy like KERRRazy! It literally felt like the front wheels were going to fall off! Got to work and I was like wtf is going on? Seen all the snow packed behind the rim and knocked it away and now all is fine and rolls smoothly again! Anyone ever had this problem in the snow or am I the only one?

It happens but I've never had snow or ice stay on the rims long enough to create issues. After hitting a couple New England pot holes usually thats all it takes to smash any snow or ice thats accumulated.

this just happened to me. took me 45 minutes to get out of my spot that had been plowed in. the whole underside of the car was frozen to the snow/ice.
i drove to get food and thought my wheel was going to come off!!! there is ice packed in the rims and around the brakes

I've never had that happen, but it doesn't surprise me. I've had the balancing weights knocked off by various road hazards... I've got lifetime balance & rotation from Wal-Mart, so I'm good. :-)

Ditto. Happened today for the first time this winter, since we haven't had much accumulation until now. I didn't bother to stop to knock off the build-up, since I knew I was returning to a heated garage. If it's not gone in the morning, then I've got bigger troubles.
Edit: Oh, on a side note, anybody have a solution to snow build up in the wheel wells? My problem is not so much the wheel well, but the end result is my tire treads getting packed with snow.

It's not surprising. Wheel balancing weights are measured in ounces and/or grams. On the OEM wheels and many aftermarket wheels, the balancing weights are adhered to the inside of the wheel. So just a few ounces will set the wheel balance off.
A word of caution (ex-rally career speaking here) - be careful scraping/removing the snow/ice/mud from the inside of your wheels, it's fairly easy to remove wheel balancing weights when doing so.

How bad was the snow, down in Lockport? Here in the City, it was NASTY. If I was lowered at all, I'd have been stuck even more than I was already. The LTB2 lowers ground clearance by a lot... and then add in the fact the City of Chicago was taking their sweet *** time getting the plows out. We got like 14" of snow, and 30+ mph winds. I had snow drifts that were almost 3 feet tall, nearly blocking me into my house.

Chefasaurus, the snow in Lockport was about 8-10 inches, some areas of course alot more with the drifting snow. Actually our roads were very clean through out the storm. The snow was just blown off the roads out here in Lockport, but the subdivisions and side streets were messy but they did clean then up right away that night! I live in a Townhouse so we pay an assoc fee for snow plowing/shoveling and to get our lawns done! Lovely, ONLY, $90 per month and they do all that for you! But the city of Lockport and pretty much Will county streets were cleaned up right away! I would hope so since we pay out of our azz for Will County property taxes, but hey cigarettes are dirt cheap in Will county only like $3 and change for a pack, but who cares cause I don't smoke any way! Look at me ramblin off about nothing!
Peace!
