The funny thing about the scanner, once I clear the MisFire from Cylinder 6 the car runs fine? Its only when I go about 100 miles that the misfire will happen again. I took the car to the dealership and they said they ran test on all coils and plugs and injectors and said all test were good. Then they said I ahd small particles in my gas, so they cleaned out my gas tank and did some fuel injector maintinenece which as a result did not fix the mis-fire.

Thanks vapor head figured it was the fuel pump motorcycles do it too just making sure.
Well the squeak is DEF not in the door. Its either the hood or fender. Wasnt sure if there was a common thing on this car. I will just have to track her down.

Cleaned out your gas tank? Wow, they took you for a ride. lol! Ok, look for air leaks in you intake. Trace your intake tubes from the hood scoop thingy all they way up to your throttle body. Feel for any leaking air while engine is on.

So you think the misfire is a coil or spark plug in cylinder six? Or can the EVAP cause the misfire? Dude I have No Clue about cars....

"Most" likely cause is that black canister near the rear of your back left tire. Check for leaks.

I don't see how the EVAP will cause a misfire, BUT, wait a bit for someone else to chime in. I've searched some threads about your EVAP issue, and most people had to get the canister and control valve replaced at the stealership.
How many miles on your car? Do you know when the last time the plugs were changed?

I have 55,000 miles on my maxima, and the car has regular maintenance but I think I had the plugs changed around 30,000 miles

Talk with some friends or family and see if they know of anyone. If you are at 55K miles, you should still be under warranty???

Do you think it has to do with the K&N? cause i did my research on the site and noone else seems to have any problems with theirs. I just want to know if anyone else is having the same problems. Could the intermittent o2 and EVAP codes have anything to do with it or just the intake itself? The stealership is getting pretty pissed cause this is the 3rd one that theyve had to eat. Thanks

Hi, I have an 01 max and just installed remote starter. The engine starts but my AC doesn't turn on. I have an auto AC (maybe that's the reason). I left the AC on before I turned off the engine. When I start the car with the remote start, the AC lights turn on but no air comes out.. only when I put the key in, then the AC starts cooling.
Is there a way I can hook some AC wires to maybe the ACC wire to get it running when the car remote starts? Thanks for any suggestions.

my right headlight doesn't work, but only when i use the headlights. Daytime running light works, and so does my highbeams, but when i put the lights on to drive at night, the right one doesnt work. I changed the bulb, so i know that the bulb isn't the problem. I'm guessing it's electrical, or possibly a fuse. Anyone have any idea's?

Hey guys, i m noob and here r my 2 questions:
1. Would PIAA H3 H120 ion plasma yellow 55w to 110w output burn existing fog lights housing and wires?
2. led that lits up a/c heater controls burned out (only one- on the right). where i can find replacment?
Dealer kept car for 36 hours and said that he needs "very experienced tech" to figure out the problem.... !!!??? and after all did not have f..g bulb in stock. He also wants to charge me all install fees ($95.00!) because I have aftermarket headunit and this voided extended warranty. Is this sounds like true statement?
thanks in advance.

This is dumb but can someone tell me what (in tire sizing) 195/65/R15 means.
I know R 15 is the rim diameter and the 65 is the width of the tire but what is the 195?
Correct me if I am wrong on my assumptions.

You have engine and powertrain covereage for 5 yr 60,oook miles. BUT, I'm not sure if the timing advance would ahve voided your warranty or not. I would get the timing back to 15 before you bring it in for repair at dealer.

The 195 represents the width of the tire, the portion contacting the pavement. The 15 is the rim size, and the 65 is the width from the top of the rim to the top of the tire.

Hello everyone im new here. I Have a 02 maxima SE and have been working on my sound and ran into some difficulties getting the door panels off particularly the back door panels. I was wondering if anyone could help. I got the first part done taking the screw off and the handle along with that whole piece. But how do I get the it off the clips without braking them? A Reply would be much appriciated.

1. take out all screws
2. pry up on switches to remove from door panel, unplug them
2.5 if you have lights(i.e the front panels) simply pry out on the lights with a small screwdriver and unplug them
3. take a long flathead screwdriver and start at the bottom closest to the hinge, work your way around to the other side. If any clips do not come out with the door panel....reference the other clips on the panel and reinstall them.
Its fairly easy to do and the clips do not break very easily at all

195...width of the tire casing in milimeters. Not the actual width of the tread hitting the ground. The shorter the aspect ratio, the more tread actually pounds pavement. A 195/75 will have less contact than a 195/60.
65...ratio percentage (aspect ratio), height x casing width. So 65% tall as it is wide. A 235 40/17 is very short as you can imagine.

I've got a clutch question now.
The friction zone is nearly at the firewall, so I tried to gently adjust the pushrod out a bit and bring it about halfway up. Problem is, the 'zone' moves around a lot now and the other day it was almost all the way up.
Is this an indication of a bad slave cylinder?

1. The 55w=100w stuff is BS. The lights are no brighter than any other 55w bulb, and they still draw 55w of power. I've used them. I wouldn't waste my money, personally. They are not very yellow, and burn out quickly. There are much better options if you want yellow fog lights.
2. IIRC, it's not an LED, it's a small bulb with a twist-in base. You can get them for abotu $4 at the dealer. that's the only place they are sold, to my knowldege.
3. It takes about 10 minutes to take the climate control out and replace the bulb. Dealer is smoking crack.

Hinges & Bushing
My front driver-side door slightly falls down when I open it. It's min at the moment but where the door hits the catcher? i have noticed some paint worn off. This may be typcial for the paint but none of my other doors fall as much as my front drivers-side.
I asked Nissan stealership and they said I would have to talk to the body shop and I then I left. I assumed there method was to replace the hinge/bushing and paint it. Easy to do? Best way to do it, or have it done professionally...$cost?
My girlfriend had her bushings replaced in her Blazer (similar to my car but hers were worse) and that did the trick. Only problem she waited to long and bent the knocker/catcher or whatever it is call and they had to weld/fix it because th door wouldn't stay shut. I prefer not to let that happen to me because it was around $400 to fix everything otherwise would have been $50 to just fix the the bushing.

I am thinking about ordering a injen cold air intake (Polished). I have found one on the net for my 02 for free shipping making it $271. Not actually going for cost but is a plus. Is there anyone that thinks i could find a better intake for my max? BTW I am going for performance, your reply is appriciated.

The Injen intake sucks and is a huge waste of money. Make yourself a GAB (look it up in the How-Tos) or get a short RAM intake like the JWT popcharger or Berk.
