I suppose I could put the old stereo back and see if the light goes off. It just seems like a big coincidence to me so I was wondering if others have noticed this problem.

Go to Autozone and have them pull the code and then we can tell exactly what the problem is. It may be your stereo has so much base you are kicking off the knock sensor code...

Ok. I took it to Autozone. The code came up P0011 and P0021. They are "Camshaft Position Actuator A - Bank 1" and "Bank 2" respectively. "Timing Over - Advan."

I had him erase the code. I then drove home (about 3 miles) without the radio. The warning did not reappear. I'm going to drive without the radio in the morning and see if it comes on. If not, my guess is the poster above was right...some loud bass during my testing of the unit may have triggered a sensor to register a bad number. So I guess I have to limit my bass in the future...

Hey, I got the ES FSB bushings you suggested..

To change em out there wasn't enough room for me to break the nuts with a socket, what do I do? You could remove the subframe bracket.. don't tell me I have to do that for 2 bushings..

what do you mean there isn't room?

I'm pretty sure I used a socket....maybe you need a smaller one

or just use box-end wrench with another one flipped over on the end as a cheater for leverage....

The bolts aren't really very tight. Douse them in PB blaster and you shouldn't have any trouble breaking them free.

Clock Wiring Harness

From this link: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....193#post548193

The writeup talks about a scanner. I just want to tap an LED in there. I know the yellow/red is 12V when ign is OFF. Do I use the black wire on the harness for my negative lead?

just wanted to know if the Skyline R32 front brake calipers are the same as the 300zx calipers and could be used in the maxima bbks like the blehmco kit. they look similar in design and structure but the R32's ar a bit beefier

BTW, you don't need to repalce the coils if they're not bad. You can, if you want to, only repalce the plugs.

i thought that i should do that cause i just bought the car in march of this year and the check engine light comes on and off periodically and the p120 code reads all the time so i was just trying to take baby steps at correcting the issue with what time and resources i have so i was wondering why not change them cause i dont know who did what on this car before i bought it and the dealership where i got the car from is being really "tight-lip" (lol) about the maintenance done to the car.......they probably do not know.... lol

Any ideas on how to remove a stuck spark plug socket that is in the chamber? I have tried everything to get it out. My only hope is to wait for the car to cool off a bit, then try to go at it again. The wrench extension just won't hold on to the socket.

Is it stuck on the plug or in the chamber? If it's stuck on the plug than yes, and it's going to sound so simple...... Unscrew the plug, take it all back out, and tightly wrap electrical tape around the socket and extension, if it is stuck in the chamber you will need the assistance of some really really long needle nose pliers.

I was looking at all the good upgrades and suggestions on the other threads , but my question is -- has any body stayed stock and bought rotors from NAPA.....? and if so were they up to par? (with the ceramic pads..)

thanks for the input.....
