i just put 19's on my car not to long ago, i had to get the tires rebalanced and now it feels like my car's steering is a little loose when going over bumps and what not, like it wants to wander a bit.............is this normal, i got an alignment and the wheels balanced, this problem was there since the install.

with my stock 16's the steering feels tight, i had new OEM tie rod ends installed, and my steering never felt loose going over bumps like this...i never had a problem with this before, my struts are set to 5....which i just recently set the front to 3, becuase of plenty of city driving lately

is it because of the reduced tire sidewall and larger rims?

thanks

Yes, you are experiencing what is called "tracking" when the tire/wheel follows the grooves in the highway/road. Get used to it...

Now i understand that this car is suppose to come with a stiff sports suspension, but god damn! I've also owned a M3, and driven in a friends IS300. Both those cars come with stiff sport suspensions, and yet they felt lightyears better than that of the Maxima's.

I now went back to Acura and purchased an 03 Cl type S coupe.
People always take the easy route, something's broke, sell it, buy another one.

Fog Light wattage question

I found these fog light bulbs on ebay...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H3-IP...spagenameZWD1V

They have an input wattage of 65w, but I know our fogs are 55w. Would that cause a problem? Maybe melt the wires?

Thanks.

It may cause a problem...in the early days of my Max I ran 65W fogs and never had an issue, but I only ran them for about 1.5 to 2 years. Electrical issues suck...so I don't know if that's worth the risk.

Why are you bothering to tell us that you went and bought an overpriced honda p.o.s.?

I dont know what was wrong with your max, but mine rides like a dream, thing damn near feels like its floating. And as for the M3 having a better suspension "comfort wise", you must be out of your mind. Maybe you had a 330ci and payed a couple extra grand for a bunch of "M" badges, but my uncle has an E46 M3 and i KNOW that it is not a comfy ride in the city.

I have a 2002 max and all of a sudden my stereo, clock, security system and power mirrors all stop working. Checked all fuses and they were good. I'm lost! Help!

oil changes

Is there such a thing as changing your oil too much? And if so is 2000 miles too soon? I know its probably a stupid question, but I don't want to hurt my baby!!

No, there is no such thing as changing it too much... It costs you money every time you change the oil, so you probably don't wanna do it too early, but if you do, it's not hurting anything. I change the oil in my cars every 5000 kms, which is every 3000 miles. Sometimes a bit earlier, sometimes a bit later, depending on how busy I am, and what I have planned.

Change it as often as you like, just make sure there is always enough oil in there...

Thank you. Good to know. I was just asking because lately she's seemed a little lacking, but I feel like I drive her easier now and am still slowly losing power. Could this be my bad 02 sensors? Or my CAI slowly killing my engine? I've put on about 11,000 hard miles since I've had it. Just over 80,000 now, and I've changed the oil every 2,000 miles since I've had it.

Alright I live in New Jersey and just bought a 2000 Maxima SE. The car came from Massachusetts and it runs fine. The only problem I have is that there is a window tint on the front two windows which is illegal in New Jersey. So I probably won't pass inspection. Is removing tint worth doing on my own or should I pay someone to do it? Cause I heard its a pain in the ***. But I'm gonna see if I pass inspection first.

If you don't pass inspection and have to remove it try it on your own first. Just do a search on the internet to see what it would take. I think you can get a solvent or cleaner that will help with the removal. It is basically a razor and some solvent or cleaner and a lot of time.

Spray it down with vinager, tape a trash bag to it, and let it soak for about 10 minutes. Then scrape it off with blade.

Yes, the wiring is already there. Just mount them and plug them in. Then you gotta install the relay if not already there and the new switch on the steering column. Your kit should come like this:

I have an exhaust leak cause I can hear it. I also noticed it hesitates if I accelerate hard. Does anyone think if I fix the leak it could be the cause of the hesitation?

Fixing the leak should be done anyway. I don't think it would fix the hesitation though, maybe.

Well I plan on fixing the leak cause it will just get bigger and worse which isn't good. What do you think I could do to fix the hesitation. Its not good if I'm trying to aviod an accident and my car won't move.

Question regarding "Stop Light Swith"
(the switch the brake pedal activates so you can move shifter out of park)

How do you remove the old switch? I was able to un plug the wire that goes to it but didn't know how to pull it off or screw it off. Anybody have instructions on this?
Thanks

(oh and how many quarts of oil go in during an oil change, 5 exact?)

4.3-4.7qts depending on the filter you use.

Mine came with 3 keys, and 2 keyfobs. I believe all 5th-5.5 gen come stock with keyfobs. Buy a OEM off of Ebay and you can program it at home.

It's not the dealers problem, and they will make him pay for it. It's a 7yr old car, not brand new......

Amtrucker I have the same problem. I was also just given one key. I have no key fob and when the alarm goes off its so embarrassing lol. Just remember don't unlock your car door by reaching in the window

Now for my question. I know I have an exhaust leak I saw it its between the cat converter and the Y-Pipe. I don't know what the pipe is called. I'm getting it fixed soon. But my Max also hesitates when I accelerate hard. Does anyone think fixing the exhaust leak will fix the heisitation problem?
