That would be my guess as well. I usually wash my engine down when I do anything involving coolant to get rid of any lingering smell.

I just got a P0170 which is running lean in bank 1. Car drove normal and didn't feel anything different. I reset my ecu (unplug battery) and after I did, maxi drove funny. When I was entering the freeway, I floored it but it would rev for a good 3-4sec and not go anywhere before it finally jerks and shifts. On street, it drove fine and shifted smoothly from 1st to 2nd if I go easy on the pedal. I tried searching to see what causes P0170 and 99.98% of people said it's MAF. I will change it out regardless, but I'm just wondering if MAF can cause what I'm experiencing right now.
Thanks!

MAF problem. When resetting the ECU as you did, it will reset LTFT's & STFT's, and that will cause a 'rough' ride for a shirt while.

I have an 02 Maxima SE that i purchased about a month ago. Upon purchase, the previous owner notified me of a "knock" coming from the front passenger side suspension. He changed the strut and strut mount, and still had the knock. When i got the car on the road, i could'nt stand hearing/feeling it, so i took it to a shop and replaced the bushings, stabalizer bar end links, ball joints, and lower control arm. All that to no avail. I STILL have the annoying knocking sound everytime i go over rough road. Any tips????????????

Post your question in here before starting a thread. Odds are, it has been asked and answered before.

Are you sure the previous owner had the strut bearing replaced, or did he just tell you that?

I had it once before changed the bearing myself, and have never heard it again.

Strut bearing? I know for a fact that he changed the strut and the strut mount. He still had the old ones in the trunk when i bought the car.

Strut bearing is what causes that sound. The strut mount, typically, includes the strut bearing.

How many miles since he changed it?

Less than 1000. The sound is coming from the undercarriage though. Passengers say that they can feel the knocking coming from under thier feet.

Wow......start by reading all the stickys and FAQ threads....

There is a picture thread already started so you can post pics of your newer ride. People can tell you are new here based on your post count, and the types of things your are posting......

Please read stickys and FAQ threads, and become familiar with the search functions of the forum or else you will get flamed big time by many members on here.

On that note.....WELCOME TO THE ORG!!!!!!!!!
