Ok, I did search it. He left the link about it right on the original post I read about it. I didn't really understand what they meant. I'm so frickin sorry I'm not a wrench head like most of you guys. I'm not entirely stupid it just seems that way when I ask a question that everyone else already knows the answer to. When he replied "search it", I thought he meant the airbox, which would explain my further confusion about what the hell the GAB is. Still don't know, and quite frankly I'm starting too not give a flying f***. And the "who just posted that too me?" was about something else. I was doing something else online then looked at my screen. It read "Stop posting stupid ****". I couldn't scroll up or down so it was clearly just a single comment, I'm pretty sure, even with my obvious stupidity, that it was meant for me. I clicked off of it to get back to what I was originally reading but forgot to look at the name on the post. I couldn't find it again so I asked who posted it. I was trying to figure out which d***head posted it. I came to this site thinking I could get help. Maybe I came to the wrong place, I don't know. A few people helped me, but most of it I figured out myself. When I ask a question, it is because I couldn't already find the answer on my own. I appreciate the fact that there are people here who want to help, but it seems like you get more crap for being new or not knowing what you are talking about than it is worth.

OSCAI write-up too-with pictures: Pics of my OSCAI

GAB write-up -with pictures:
Taking the GAB to a whole new level :woot:

Pictures of my GAB (slightly enlarged the holes since taking the pictures)-2nd picture shows the OSCAI too:

The first two threads took seconds to search and find. Sometimes you just have to pick through some threads to find what you need. That's what I did when I first started reading about the GAB and OSCAI.

There is an entire thread devoted to suspension. I would check that out. Also, check out the advanced suspension forum.

Does anyone know how an Ebay cat-back exhaust would sound like for our maxima's? They are only like $200 as opposed to the $600 cattman or greddy exhausts. I know you get what you pay for but the company that makes it says it's made of the same steel as the greddy model, it is mandrel bent, and is tig welded for 1/3 of the price. Would I be better off saving up 600 bones?? Any suggestions are appreciated!!

You may be saving some money on the purchase price, but you will probably suffer when it comes to the fit up of the exhaust. The cost savings have to come from somewhere, and its most likely the cost to properly test for fit up and sound. If its HP that your after you would be better off going with a y pipe or headers depending on what gen you have.

If you're going to save money, save for headers.

I have h&r springs up front with Tokico Blues all around. I use the Max as a DD and I've been happy with this set up. Are you running stock struts now?

I'd start with the fuses labeled FOG / RH/LH.

Yup, those are the fuses I meant, couldn't think of their exact names offhand. It is possible, not likely, but possible, so check the bulbs, then post back.

My maxima is an automatic so I don't want to put money into it for performance, because it's an auto. I just want an exhaust so it sounds nice, plus it's more fun to drive if it sounds nice as well. Sometime soon I plan on buying a Mark 4 Supra that I want to heavily mod. The max is my daily driver...

My car's auto, and a DD and I put headers on it. But that is for another thread. Anyhow, sound is subjective, check the sound clip thread, find the header-less set-up you like and take it from there.

Make sure they are working. Remove them, give them a shake, maybe even buy a cheap replacement and plug it in.

I really want to take apart my front headlights and fog lights and spray the insides black in some areas to give it an AE look.
does anyone have a guide on how to do this or advice on what products to use to spray and seal the headlights?
Should i go through with this if I lack some experience with this type of stuff?

This may be a stupid and obvious point but just to be sure, you know that you have to have the headlamps turned on low beam in order for the fog lights to turn on. The will not come on alone or with the side markers unless you did the rewire.

Just to make sure you are doing the right process.

-Prop the hood open
-Put the key in the ignition and turn it to ACC. (dont start the engine)
-Turn down/off the radio and climate control also, just so its easier to hear the click.
-turn on your headlights, you should hear some sort of click from the passenger side of the engine bay
-flip on your fogs, you should hear a click as you flip the switch, coming from passenger side again

Get another person if you have to make sure.

Hey guys...

I've got a noob question. I've seen some posts asking for carfax reports and others saying that sharing is illegal or wrong.

What's the deal? Can others run a carfax for you or no? I'm looking at buying another car and could really use the carfax info...

Thanks for the help!!

Is it from a dealer? If so, have them provide it. If not, try the sticky in the main forum, but some people can and can't. Might as well just pay for it, assuming you're really interested in the car.

Thanks... That's what I'm leaning toward; just paying the fee.

And no, it's not from dealer. Private Party....

Are they the original owner? Have they stated what they’ve done and how they’ve treated it? Or is it from a 17 y/o kid who has had it for his high school days and is now moving on to a gas saver for college?

-Prop the hood open
-Put the key in the ignition and turn it to ACC. (dont start the engine)
-Turn down/off the radio and climate control also, just so its easier to hear the click.
-turn on your headlights, you should hear some sort of click from the passenger side of the engine bay
-flip on your fogs, you should hear a click as you flip the switch, coming from passenger side again

Get another person if you have to make sure.

My 2000 maxima GXE was recently leaking transmission fluid and also would sometimes turnoff right after being started instead of idleing. I got the leak fixed and thought that would fix the "turnoff problem"...WRONG! It still shuts off sometimes right after being started. I also need to have my flywheel replaced because I get that "scrapping" sound sometimes when I try to start it up. Could the flywheel be the reason it is shutting off after starting?
