Performance would not be affected, only gas mileage. And even then, it wouldn't be a horrendous difference.

I am going to try cutting the bung down a little and surfacing it to get it flat. That way the bung will clear. Have that done tomorrow evening hopefully.

No, either re-locate the secondary sensors or sim them.

Same piping as the cattman headers = damage

Here's what I did for my relocation on my 2000 cali spec. These are the Hotshot header. It's a little too late because they don't sell them anymore (lazy me).

Sorry for asking a question that may have been covered:
Im buying hotshot headers for my 5.5...will I run into any fitment issues? I was reading about the EGRs and I recall some had fitment issues with the AC lines.

you will not have issues...that is with the 5th gen...but our 5.5 gens are direct bolt on...ac and egr will not get in your way

positive? if so then thats a relief...at the price I cant pass these up for Cattman headers..even if their material is not as good and the gains will be somewhat less..thanks for the response

yes i am positive...go check out all the header threads...and you will see what i mean...and if anything, HS will probably score higher than cattman....at least the new cattmans...
HS = Cattman Gen 1
HS > Cattman Gen 2
HS > Cattman Gen 3 <-----(not totally sure but it looks like it from the dynos)

I read those but I also read somewhere that someone w/ HS had a bad installation exp. b/c the ypipe was extremely close to the oil pan and draining oil would result in it spilling over the ypipe. I know the general consensus is that HS fit fine but Im sure there are some that ran into problems.
Also, the HS headers Im getting have minimal rust..I could see small brown spots on the ypipe..not the headers so much (very minimal on the headers). Is this a cause for concern?

5.5 gens do not have EGR systems, so you don't have to worry. The AC line should not be an issue although I've read that someone had a problem with the clearance of their 5.5 gen. Either way, you won't have a major problem with HS installation, but you may have you slightly bend your o2 sensor at the MOST.

you probably mistaken that for cattman gen 2's....they had a problem with oil spilling onto the ypipe
only the VERY early generation HS headers have problems...and they had fitment issues not ypipe too close to the oil pan issues....but i am sure those don't exist no more...

Im looking into buying some exhaust wrap for the ypipe and headers.
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Has anyone used this? More than reducing heat in the bay Im really looking to prevent possible rust on the parts. The description does not mention that it will prevent rust so Im asking if any of you have this and whether it prevented rust or not. Are there any downsides of using this?
I also saw this:
