Thanks for getting back to me. i called stillen and they dont have headers to match the y-pipe for my year, you prolly been asked before so forgive me, how do i know if i have the fed spec, and should i even worry about headers?

If you only see two O2 sensor harnesses at the front of your engine bay or an O2 sensor behind your MAIN cat, you have a FED spec.
Is it difficult to install the e-manage system into the 5.5 gens, i searched and only found a 4th gen. Also how hard is it to tune - would i need to get it dynod without a WBO2......

You have a lot of research to do, and also need to learn to express your thoughts a little better.
Install difficulty relies on the skill of the installer. As does the 'tuining' idea.
And also, a wb is a must when dynoing, the shop typically has one.
how much more are the cattmans and how much of a difference is there if any?
i was on the website for the hotshots, they have a great deal going on... i dont know how much longer they will have them for 300 flat w/ free shipping but im definitely about to get them. Heres the dyno they have on the website....
Accurate?? (how much of a gain would there be?) cuz i cant read that for jack and i never had a dyno done before

Don't go stricktly off of Dynos... Everycar is different and it depends on other mods, AFR and dyno opertion.
They do make good power, Cattman should make a BIT more (2-3whp), Cattmans are aimed more at midrange increase while HotShots are more top end... So for most people Cattmans make more useable power.
HotShots are $300 shipped right now (orig $600)... Cattmans are $830-$880 shipped.
Since many people are debating on Cattman or Hotshot, you should ask yourself if you want stainless steel instead of the "how many more hp/tq?" Also, rumor has it that Cattman sounds "better." You can be the judge for that.

Damn, well thats an easy decision for me. i will go with the Hotshot headers. only because it is cheaper and there isnt THAT much of a difference in power between the two.
Well they state that it only has the headers on that dyno. I intend to get intake and headers installed at the same time. Would this be a better move then to install them separately?
Well i have hotshot headers, and let me tell yall its been HELL tryin to get my ses light off and its still on btw. ok so i put hotshot headers on my car my ses light comes on, realizing my main cat was fried during install i purchased a new one put it on and relocated 2 02 sensors behind the main cat.Cool fixed
so i thought. ses light pops back on scanned the ecu 1 code for my knock sensor and one 1130 code(swirl valve selinoide)popped up replaced the knock sensor and got a new intake manifold. the light was off for 2 days. then it came back2 days ago scanned the ecu same problem except it wasnt the swirl valve and knock sensor its the swirl valve and some catalyst efficiancy...
WTF.....can any one help me out with this has anyone else had this problem?
do i need a piggy back of some sort?would jet v chip help with this??
PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. Z
i never thought having headers would be such a pain in the azz.
all i want is my car to run good with out any damn ses light popping up every time i fix what it says the problem is.

UPDATE: I finished my Cattman header install today. I went against Brian's and a few others advise and decided to install them myself. It went fairly well considering i was in my apartment parking lot taking up like 6 spaces w/ crap everywhere (it was a funny scene to say the least.)
It took forever which i didnt mind but theyre on there and im extremely satisfied. They sound real good and i can definetely feel the performance gains. The reason it took forever was A) i had a POS jack that came w/ 2 jack stands and factory scissor jack to use. B) No air tools. C) Some bolts are stubborn requiring massive amounts of straining and energy then recovery time saying "what the deuce and damn this is a good workout" D) Budweiser is good. E) Car talk from random people. F) This was my first soldering extravaganza.
My heat happy roomate even melted a big ball together then gravity took effect and it fell onto my front wheel well. I wanted to stick that soldering iron up his you know what. Luckily it peeled right off once it dried so no harm no foul. He did afterall help me install them.
My secondaries still arent simulated but ill take care of it when i get back from vacation. No SES light though so thats good.
I just wanted to thank everyone for the massive amounts of valuable information youve provided. I woulda been up **** creek w/o a paddle if not for the info on here. So ya...thanks again.

Great story, would read again. Do you have plans on dynoing/tuning?

oh ya definetly, im gonna get the VAFC and dyno probably sometime in April or May. I gotta get this knee surgery out of the way first and be able to work on the car again so ya that and money are the only things stopping me from doing it right now.
Hey guys,
I'm very new to this site, as and even more in car modding...just learning basic stuff...Anyway, I have a 2000 maxima gxe manual.
My stupid engine light recently came on, so i took it to the shop for them to scan, they suggested to replace the converter and 02 sensor, totalling $500. So i told them to **** off, went home, and replaced the o2 sensor myself to save money. It was my first ever attempt messing with car stuff, so this took me a whole saturday. It was actually fun! So the light turned off for about a day or two, and now tis on again. Now i scanned it myself (just bought a scanner) and it looks like the converter is bad.
I'm thinking of changing the converter myself and also the whole exhaust, from the muffler (which exhaust is only coming out on the right pipe), the cat, and the y pipe, which is rusting like hell. I'm looking at this Y-Pipe and Cat combo on ebay, and since you guys know more about this stuff than I do, maybe you can tell if i should get it and if the HP increase (and everytying else) is real. Also, I'd like the car to pass emissions tests, but this thing doesn't have the pre-cat **** and i was wondering is this ws going to be an issue. Any help would be great!
im gonna extend the 02 wire to the front header just to make everything look more stock. what guage wire is everyone using? i think i used 16 guage for the rear header. im nowhere near my apt right now so i cant check what guage i used...cant remember either.
